Seriously delicious! Anything I have tried here has been a 10/10- love the U pick option, but the green beans and curry vegetables are EVERYTHING! Amazing prices and is tasty almost every single time. Especially lately!

Huge portions, prices are good for all the food you get. We got the one entree, three sides with Mandarin chicken as the entree and orange chicken, pork fried rice, and crab puffs as the sides. This meal easily feeds two people, if not three. Both chickens had a bit of spice, definitely not too spicy. Not top quality food by any means, but convenient and cheap while we were staying across the street. The Mandarin chicken was the best part of the meal in our opinion.

Have been ordering from New Happy Fortune for the past two years. I highly recommend you try the food. Especially the combo meals. Large servings! Food tastes good, and never an issue with my order. My top five restaurants in Portland for sure.

I think I’ve found my new fave Chinese takeout spot in Portland! New Happy Fortune is an awesome, unassuming, ‘hole-in-the-wall’ restaurant that has HUGE portions for great prices. I had the “U Pick” 1 entree + 3 sides meal. With Mandarin chicken as my entree, and my sides: 4 crab puffs, orange chicken, and steamed rice (All for $15.95) The platter it was served on was basically the size of my head, and the portions were piled high! It is a great meal to split with 2, maybe 3 people. I stopped by for my lunch after working at the high school nearby and had to take home a full to-go box (gonna be my dinner for later!) The chicken was super crispy and flavorful, and I highly recommend trying the Mandarin chicken! I’m definitely coming back again!

I love this place. They’re not busy with Dine In but they are super busy with take out. They’re do need some work on the outside but hey they’re on 82nd can’t complain too much right?! But their food is super portions are huge as well.

I recently ordered takeout from New Happy Fortune, and while I don’t usually like to leave negative reviews, this was, unfortunately, one of the worst takeout experiences I’ve had. I ordered some of my kids’ usual favorite Chinese dishes—broccoli beef, spring rolls, and pork fried rice—but none of them were up to par.

The broccoli was barely cooked, and the sauce was both overly sweet and too salty. The pork fried rice was dry and tasted like it had been reheated from days before. As for the spring rolls, they arrived soggy and completely fell apart—they definitely didn’t travel well.

I also tried the orange chicken and General Tso’s chicken. Both were incredibly sweet, though the General Tso’s at least had a bit of spice to cut through the sweetness. However, both chicken dishes were disappointingly dry. The fried shrimp was not properly cleaned, and while that usually doesn’t bother me, these were particularly bad.

Overall, this was far from the quality of Chinese takeout I’m used to in Portland. I was hoping for a better experience, but sadly, New Happy Fortune fell short in almost every way.

Fast service, fresh+delicious, one of the things that can turn a bad day around. Google will not let me post the video of steam rising up from my lemon chicken, but here is a photo. It was perfect, crispy and flavorful. Thanks for being here New Happy.

This place is hit or miss on good servers, but the food is that old style Chinese food. Everything is great not 5 star but better than a 4 star. Egg rolls were epic and the General Tos chicken was amazing. Chicken chow main was great and if you like sweet fried food, try the Orange chicken. Overall 4.5 rating.
The dinner is small and the bathroom really could us a make over, but other than that plats were clean the water was cold and things look clean.
