Ok food, usually fresh, not soggy or greasy. Unlike other places in the city. Service is good. People who serve and answer phone are always friendly. They have slacked once or twice on my order and charged for something I didn’t get but for the most part always good. Egg rolls never greasy and always fresh.

Ive ordered here before and it was decent food for the price you pay. And I convinced my wife to give them a try since almost all the other Chinese spots in fall river are closed on Tuesdays.
The food tasted NOTHING like it did last time I ordered it. It was incredibly bland. The rice both fried and white was soggy. The lo mein we ordered for the kids was so bad they refused to eat it. Nothing had any flavour besides saltiness.
Tried to call and complain about it. They said that they’ve had the same recipe for over 20 years. Which, if true I dont know how they’re still open. I asked if I could get refunded for the purchase and he laughed and said that they dont do refunds.
I always give second chances for a bad experience, but im never getting food from here again.

A very big disappointment! Lo mein has absolutely no flavor and I swear it is spaghetti that they’re using. My two eggrolls tasted sour… Like the cabbage has gone bad. The crab Rangoon‘s were rubbery on the outside but good flavor on the inside. Pan fried dumplings, barely fried. I will never order from them again.

It wasn’t good but it wasn’t awful, it kinda felt like a spat in the face. I personally love general sos chicken and this place just wasn’t very good. I personally don’t recommend it but I can see why other would.

Now I know they bought their reviews! This was the worst Chinese food I have ever ordered in my entire life. I live right around the corner and have lived here for eight years and have never ordered from there since I moved in. I decided to give them another chance, and I wasted my money! Their crab Rangoon are as flat as pancakes with nothing inside them, the dumplings taste like rubber they put chunks of mystery meat inside my hot and sour soup. And on top of that they make you pay for the red sauce with the crab Rangoon! Never again will I waste $.35 ordering from this establishment.

I could hurt myself eating their food. Sometimes I think I want to order extra for the next day. It would take me a long time to get tired of eating this food.. if I could afford it, I would eat their food almost every day.

My family loves it too Everyone very satisfied.
The traditional fortune cookies are very enjoyable. Sometimes it makes for table talk , and or pleasant contemplation.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews here from my experience. They’re always really friendly. They deliver quick and when you order simple things it always comes out. Great usually I get chicken wings or the sweet-and-sour chicken combo and it’s delicious every single time.

I see a lot of mixed reviews about this place and I just wanna say I grew up in South End Fall River and usually only grabbed Chinese in that area. Since I’ve moved and have been wanting to try all of Fall Rivers Chinese restaurants it was time I finally tried New Golden Star, although I haven’t made my way thru everything I want to try I haven’t had one bad experience, everything has been delicious and flavorful, small family who owns it they are always kind and don’t even need to read back my order anymore for how frequent I have been going, if you’re looking to try something new like me give Golden star a try !
