I liked this place. I didn’t have to wait fir seating. The server was great. But the burger wasn’t that good. The fries and the chocolate pie were really good. The prices are decent. I would go back.

My family is Serbian, so naturally I had to try this place. The best pleskavica I’ve had. Better than my own. My wife and I will definitely be back and next time we’re bringing the family. Христос је краљ

New Era–this is the place to get some good food. The atmosphere is wonderfully calm and clean. The workers are kind and informative on the dishes: the service was interactive. I love this place for the ability for me to ask questions and the server responding with friendly, patient answers. The atmosphere and the service are fully complementary to the food. Every dish is not just filling, but they are very satisfying.

We had such a good time visiting this place before a concert at the Goodyear Theater. We could tell everything was made in-house with love, and were quite pleased with our decision to eat there. One friend commented that it just felt clean – not tainted with extra ingredients. Even the pre-dinner bread was clearly made in house. Super fresh and not a perfect shape. Don’t EVEN get me started about the strudel and a new-to-me dessert, Krem Pita. It was AMAZING.

Yes. Go here. It’s freaking REAL.

I have been dining here for many years. It’s a staple for homemade dishes you can’t get in other restaurants. Yes, the prices have risen over the years as has everyone’s, but the quality and service are always great. The prices are in line with everyone else. The swiss steak falls apart with a fork. It’s the food that makes it worth the stop!

This restaurant has been a “must eat” establishment in Akron for almost 100 years. It is still family owned and operated. I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve been here. I had forgot about this place but I’ve recently rediscovered it. Known for as a Croation/Serbian restaurant that also offers plenty of standard American dishes and specials. The chicken paparikash is really good and the dumplings really help make the dish. The portions are large and seem to be even bigger when you take out. My girlfriend ordered the Grilled Pleskavica spicy…grilled sausage type of dish…it tasted good but was not her favorite dish. The desserts are sooo good. I’ve had the strudel and they are delicious. The custard cake is worth driving out of your way for.
Staff is helpful and sweet. The prices are still pretty reasonable even with today’s inflation!

I was in town for work and this place was recommended, so we (3 colleagues and I) went for dinner. The meals were just okay, but the desserts were exceptional, especially the strudel. We wound up getting more strudel for carryout the next day.

I have been going to the New Era Restaurant since I was 6 years old with my parents at the original place. And still going there now at the new place. Today, I went there and ordered the pan fried Pork chops dinner and the Chicken Paprikash to go, it is the way my mother used to make it before she passed. Also a piece of their famous Apple strudel and cheese strudel. Always delicious.

Good food. Reasonable prices for lunch. I had the chicken paprikash. It was tasty, with just the right amount of heat(spices). I had coke for my beverage, and apple strudel for dessert. My check was just at $15. BRING CASH-be aware that this restaurant has a SURCHARGE if you pay with a credit card. The restaurant was generally clean, but the carpet could use a little bit of scrubbing.
