It was a pleasent experience, I ordered through Grubhub.

I ordered:
● Crispy Shrimp Spring Roll: it was crispy but a little under seasoned.
● Chiken corn soup: was not bad, but I had much much better.
● Kung Pao Chicken: was good, not the best.
● Combination Lo Mein: it was not bad.
● Beef with Broccoli: was dilecious, broccoli more than beef and too soucy.
● Mongolian Beef: was dilecious, onions more than beef.
● Strig beens: was dilecious.

All and all it was good food.

The quality was great and fresh.

Would I order again? I might.

Visiting DC for the weekend and had to look for some halal Chinese food. As a houstonian, I’m picky about my food choices. Oh my god I’m so happy to have tried New Dynasty. Mom and pop shop run by a husband and wife. They’ve been open for 30+ years. Such a sweet couple and so kind. The food came quickly and it was all so delicious. It was so good I had to DoorDash it the next day. Definitely will be back if I’m back in the city!

This little gem in Washington DC is another diamond in the rough that many have looked over. The food is authentic Chinese cuisine like your momma made it. It was hot fresh and tantalizing on my taste buds. If you live in DC what are you waiting on to drop by this small but quaint little gem. The service is quick but the food is perfection. You will not be disappointed. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me. The service was warm and friendly! See you on my next visit.

Got a few items for carry out being hopeful that the current 4.3 stars was not that bad. Especially because it’s hard to find any halal Chinese restaurants in DC. But unfortunately in my kung pao chicken there was some sort of egg shell or plastic? Unacceptable. It’s like inside the breading of the chicken? Just gross

This is a typical carry out resturant, so get take out. But the food is always fresh and the ingredients are high quality for American Chinese food (i.e. chicken has good quality chicken amd not just breading).

Best wonton soup in DC

Just had lunch at New Dynasty Restaurant in D.C. last year (just remember to upload my documentation.lol) and honestly, it felt like a hidden gem—especially if you’re craving Asian flavors that hit close to home. As an Indonesian, I’m pretty picky with taste, but this place delivered!

One big plus: they provide halal menu options! That’s not always easy to find, so it really made the experience better.

I ordered their fried rice and general tso’s chicken and some vegetable dumplings, and both came out fresh and flavorful. The chicken had that crispy-outside, juicy-inside texture, and the sauce was rich without being overly sweet. It reminded me a bit of how we like our ayam saus mentega in Indonesia—manis, gurih, and satisfying!

The portion sizes were generous, definitely enough to share with my friend or save for later. Plus, they’re fast—good if you’re on a schedule or just too hungry to wait. The place is simple and clean, nothing fancy, but the service was friendly and warm.

One small note: the flavors lean more American-Chinese, so it’s not super-authentic Chinese cuisine, but still delicious if you’re just looking for something tasty, halal-friendly, and comforting. I didn’t see sambal, though—so next time I might bring my own!

Overall: worth a visit, especially if you’re in the Dupont Circle area and craving good Asian food that feels a little like home—and halal too!

*sorry, I forgot to capture my food. Too hungry to remember
