Good food for a small business, friendly staff. Always made fresh. Triple Delight, very good jumbo shrimp, chicken, beef with mixed vegetables. Crabmeat Rangoon (6). YUM!

I genuinely don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. I remember when Chinese food actually had flavor, but to be completely honest, the food here was so bland that we won’t be returning. The rice was mushy, and it seemed like they didn’t even add salt to the water while cooking it. The egg drop soup tasted like nothing, and we ended up throwing it away after just a few bites. The only redeeming item was the crab rangoon, which was good…but since it’s clearly not made in house, I can’t give them credit for it.
The young girl at the counter seemed inexperienced. she wasn’t rude but she acted like this might have been her first job (maybe around 16 years old). She didn’t speak loud enough, and when I asked her simple questions about the menu or whether I could get a cup of water for my 2 year old, her response was “uhhh… I don’t know” to everything. It seemed to overwhelm her, even though there were no other customers around.
It was also awkward when she kept openly staring at us while we were trying to read the menu taped to the counter. They ended up sending another girl to the back to find a cup, and she came out with one that clearly wasn’t for customer use.
Restaurants should always be prepared for basic things, such as small plastic cups for water or straws (which they didn’t have either). That’s just a given.
The atmosphere was also shabby. They only had two tables and it felt cramped and was set up primarily for takeout.
If you’re looking for better food and a better atmosphere, I’d recommend Three Happiness on Alpine. I don’t mean to come off as overly critical, but it really feels like standards have dropped in regards to reviews, and people are handing out 5 star reviews just to avoid offending anyone

I don’t think there are enough positive words I could use to describe how amazing New Dragon is. Their food is always on point, short waiting time (even when their busy), and friendly staff. I have eaten there for years, and never once was I disappointed. New Dragon is a staple in Sparta and an amazing place to eat!

The food is flavorless. I love a wide variety of Chinese food dishes but never ever like anything I order from here. The only thing I’ve liked is the eggrolls. Also extremely expensive and overpriced. Better Chinese options on Alpine and elsewhere. Yuck

One of the cleanest kitchens and dining rooms I have ever witnessed at a Chinese restaurant! Food is always correct, hot, and tasty! Crab rangoon is the best around! Prices are average but for the portion size a good value

Just found this place! I read all the positive reviews and wanted to give them a try since I was dissatisfied with the Chinese restaurants closer by, the food was tasteless. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time at New Dragon the reviews are real! I tried Almond Boneless Chicken portion size was good, taste was amazing. I’ll be back for sure
