New City Sushi is a small tradition style Sushi bar/restaurant with an inviting atmosphere and service. A family run establishment with a single sushi chef that shows dedication in the meals he creates. Passing through the area I stopped in and requested an Omakase at the bar and was given a wonderful experience! The multi course Omakase featured some unique dishes such as Chuka Idako, fried Shishamo, Madai, Hotategai, Chutoro, Maine Uni and Chawanmushi. Overall this was a pleasant experience with a good atmosphere and tradition dishes you may not find at your typical sushi restaurant 6.7/10.

Have done large takeout orders from here 4 times so far and every time the food was delicious and fresh. We are super picky with our sushi and just found our new go-to. I do think it’s a little bit on the pricey side so can’t do it as frequently as we would like to but when we do it’s a yummy treat

New City Sushi (Miso Nara) has been a staple in Rockland County for 10+ years. The care that goes into each roll is extraordinary and it shows! My family comes here at least 2x a month, maybe even 3x. I’ve tried about every roll and they’re all fantastic in their own way. Personally I recommend the Salmon Lover Roll (simple yet perfect), the Spicy Tuna Dragon Roll (the avocado on top is amazing), and the White Dragon Roll. Also, I recommend ordering the Spicy Salad, it’s often overlooked but is extremely good. Of course, it’s no trip to New City Sushi without a Spicy Tuna Handroll, so definitely get one of those as well. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! 🙂 OPEN FOR DINE IN NOW!!!

I have been going to this restaurant since it was called Miso Nara (over 12 years now). It is by far my favorite sushi place I have ever eaten at. And I have lived in NYC and eaten at some of the best restaurants. Hands down always came back here. The hospitality just can not be beat. The owners are the loveliest people. I have never eaten anything that wasn’t good. Quality is always right on and always fresh. The basic rolls are your basic rolls but the specialty rolls and the Macs roll is by far mine and my husbands favorite. You can not go wrong with any item on the menu. I love this place so much I always ask to go for my birthday and I even had my rehearsal dinner there. I hope they never leave or go out of business .

Best sushi place in Rockland county! The quality of fish here is nothing short of outstanding. Sashimi tastes fresh and delicious. Rolls are also tasty. I would recommend getting the sashimi roll combos for the table for good variety, taste, and value. Space is limited compared to competitors, but taste is hands down the best. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for tasty sushi and sashimi!
