I have been going to this restaurant since it was called Miso Nara (over 12 years now). It is by far my favorite sushi place I have ever eaten at. And I have lived in NYC and eaten at some of the best restaurants. Hands down always came back here. The hospitality just can not be beat. The owners are the loveliest people. I have never eaten anything that wasn’t good. Quality is always right on and always fresh. The basic rolls are your basic rolls but the specialty rolls and the Macs roll is by far mine and my husbands favorite. You can not go wrong with any item on the menu. I love this place so much I always ask to go for my birthday and I even had my rehearsal dinner there. I hope they never leave or go out of business .

This was a surprisingly underwhelming and disappointing experience. This place clearly has a strong reputation in the area, and that vibe was all over the establishment when I walked in to grab my lunch. Everyone was very nice, and the sushi chef behind the counter generously gave me a huge piece of a spicy tuna-dominant free sample. I’m willing to believe this could have just been an off day and/an anomaly, but in the moment it was just not good.

Best sushi place in Rockland county! The quality of fish here is nothing short of outstanding. Sashimi tastes fresh and delicious. Rolls are also tasty. I would recommend getting the sashimi roll combos for the table for good variety, taste, and value. Space is limited compared to competitors, but taste is hands down the best. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for tasty sushi and sashimi!

Wonderful family owned sushi restaurant in New City. The food, service, and attention to detail is superb. I absolute love the lobster salad and king crab rolls. The owner will normally provide you with a sample while you wait for your food. I love this place, and the food really is top-class. Totally recommend you try it if you like great sushi.

I have been enjoying this couples restaurant since I was a child at their original location. They are extremely kind and generous, don’t be surprised if they treat you to a free appetizer they cook up off the menu. I have a special connection to them because of the energy and intention that fills the place, and every bite has quality like no other sushi, or Japanese restaurant, in a 50 mile radius, it surpasses many experiences I’ve had at reputable NYC restaurants. Don’t forget you get what you pay for so the prices may SEEM high.

I’ve only ordered take out from them 2 times and both times the sushi is great! Quickly and nicely done and tastes so good. One time we even got a free snack as well as a bonus. Sadly I am no longer in Rockland and yet to find a better sushi in Northern Colorado. Just ordered some rolls for my parents over the phone and everyone is satisfied. Will absolutely order again next time we are visiting New City!

I hear this place may get shut down for health violations. So I wanted to share my experience. I’ve ordered here many times, I gave them an amazing review 3 years ago. Over the past year, I’ve ordered a few times and it has been disgusting. Fish was fishy – salmon, tuna and yellowtail in particular – and the crab was also fishy somehow. The other rolls, volcano, macs roll and miso nara roll were bland with a bad fish flavor. Kani salad is not what you think, don’t order it. Even california roll was mostly rice and the avocado is brown.
