Update: Happy to report that New China has improved a great deal! I ordered the Pu pu platter, house fried rice and Peking ravioli which were all delicious! Their egg rolls are fantastic and the best around! They are filled with ground pork and veggies just like I remember them being elsewhere from years ago. I’ll be back for sure!
This place runs hot and cold. Lately the quality of much of the food has not been good. In fact I threw out half of it, which I’ve never done in my life. The peking ravioli was very good, as was the crab rangoon. The chicken chow mein ( not even sure that was chicken) was tasteless and the chicken had an odd tough texture. The batter on the chicken fingers and shrimp completely fell off upon picking it up… what???
Do they have a new cook? Are they buying low quality ingredients to save on cost? Idk… I gave them a shot once again but will try elsewhere next time.

Food was ok. Nothing spectacular. Service was very slow. 20 minute wait turned into over a 40 minute wait. From what we ordered, the rice was good. The chicken fingers were very oily and very breaded. The sesame chicken was pretty good. The beef with mushrooms not so much. The beef tasted funny and did not have the texture of decent beef. I honestly took the beef out of my dinner and gave it to my dogs then mixing in the mushrooms and sauce that was left with my pork fried rice.

I just want to thank everyone thant works in this establishment, especially the workers and gentleman that was working last night… My grandmother had ordered food from here and locked herself out of the car and had to wait until AAA came to get her keys out of her car. You people showed her nothing but wonderful hospitality and helped to restore my Faith in humanity that there are still good people out there in this crazy world! Thank you SO much and by the way your food is delicious as well lol ❤️❤️❤️ thank you kindly Happy Holidays

Terrible service and more expensive than competitors. I once ordered at the beginning of the pandemic and never got my food I ordered as they took 2 hours to bring it to me and didn’t answer their phone so I assumed that they were closed due to the start of the pandemic and the online app wasn’t up to date. So I ordered elsewhere however sure enough they came 2 hours late. I didn’t put too much stock into this though as it was the start of a pandemic and everyone was scrambling and I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
However tonight the same thing happened. I ordered just after 7pm and at 8:10 I called to see where our food was. A man answered told me driver was on his way. Then another 15 mins goes by still no food so I call again and he gets onto his driver and finds out they went to the wrong address. By the time we find this out it’s 8:30and when I asked how much longer the food would be he told me I would have to wait for another 15 to 20 minutes bringing the total time they wanted me to wait for Chinese to be 2 hours. I ended up canceling the order. I will never order from this establishment ever again.

This is our favorite local Chinese takeout. We order a couple times per month. The older man who runs it is very nice, and the food is generally great (sometimes they seem to forget to put veggies and eggs in the pork fried rice, though).

I order from this restaurant at least once a week and spend a good amount of money. Tonight I ordered a very small order and didn’t get duck sauce or anything like that so I called back at 9:45 PM when they close at 10 and asked if I could pick up some duck sauce. I was told no I have to call back tomorrow. I asked so what do I do with my food tonight he said I am sorry we are closed Call back tomorrow. So I asked if tomorrow they would refund my money he started giving me an attitude and yelling at me because they were closed I literally just want to duck sauce with my food and it was like holy effing teeth. Are used to go to happy garden and I have no problem but now I live closer to new China so I started going there and up until tonight I raved about them but now I think I will just drive the extra few minutes and go back to happy garden

Hands down, best Chinese food I’ve had in many years. Besides the standards, they also have Szechwan, and some great dishes I had never tried before: Ho Foon: noodles from southern China. Delicious! (Reminds me of some of the great flavors I expect from a well done Thai Noodle dish) Also, believe me when I tell you their Salt and Pepper Fried Tofu is… incredible. (Hate tofu? Well, I found bites of this dish to tase like delicious fried chicken at times and supremely delicious fried fish filet in other bites! Still hate tofu? Fine. If they can make tofu taste this good, imagine what they can do with other food you might like. Seriously.) Also, I never write reviews for anything. This food was just that good. Looks like an ordinary take out joint, but the food is lightyears beyond ordinary.

Food has always been good, but the woman behind the counter lacks people skills. She was very rude. The place stinks of cigarettes and stale urine. Will be spending my money elsewhere moving forward.

You get a ton of food for an affordable price. Deliciously fresh! We always have enough food left over for lunch the next day. Even the luncheon specials are huge!

A Plymouth fixture. Not fancy, just great Chinese food served up by a friendly and eternally hard working cook/owner. Portions are generous, I consider myself hungry and can eat only half of what I’m served here. Proof below—a picture of reheating half my pork fried rice and twice cooked Szechuan style pork. New China is a North Plymouth experience.
