Friendly waitress, manager was rude when we sent the food back because the hash browns were burnt, bacon was dry and burnt, no icing on the “warm iced cinnamon roll” that was also cold, waffle was ice cold. I was told “well, they usually don’t warm the strawberries on the waffle unless you ask”….. so, you put frozen strawberries on a warm waffle?? I never bother to write google reviews but this was bad. Don’t recommend

I like the smaller diner style restaurants, the food is always good. Here was no exception, even my plate was hot lol. Nice sized portion, I took maybe a 3rd home with me. The ladies working the floor had good energy, you can tell they work together often.

To start off, I ordered the 3 meat omelette with the potatoes and my wife ordered scrambled eggs with bacon. Both of our orders came with toast. We also ordered biscuits and gravy to share between the two of us. I took a little bit of the gravy and put it on my omelette as seen on the pic because you get a good amount of gravy with the biscuits and gravy order.
My wife and I agree that the food was decent, good even. But to pay close to $50 for the food listed and a cup of coffee, it wasn’t worth it to me. We also only saw the waitress to take our order and to give us our bill.
All in all, if you’ve thought about going here, you should still give it a try. The food was good and seemed to be popular with the locals. So you might have a little wait before being seated.

I come two to three times a week, and by my third visit, the waitress Mandy already knows what I order and how I like it. She’s the best waitress I know.

New Beginnings Restaurant is a simple throwback old school diner. Enjoyed this place for the simplicity. They know what they do, and they’re not trying to be anything they’re not. Service was timely and friendly enough.
Exterior is unassuming. Interior to match.
I’d go back.

Great local diner to go to for a good breakfast. This location does not have the omelets that the 44th street location has.
Our last visit, the service was not very good. I think that it was an exception, and not the rule. We will be back soon.

My go to place for breakfast. The food is good, the service is good, & their are many locations in the greater Grand Rapids area to choose from. The restaurant is clean & the atmosphere is pleasant.

Nothing fancy or pretentious here but if you want your basic diner breakfast items you’re all set.
The biscuits and Gravy with 3 eggs over easy (Black pepper & hot sauce of course) is a nice staple.

This place is a go-to spot for me and my boyfriend, I love their potatoes with onions. New Beginnings is by far the best value I’ve ever seen at a breakfast spot; you can get a 3rd egg for free, and you will never leave hungry. The staff is nice too, the place has a local small business feel to it and I leave happy every time I come here.
