so I’ve been going to quest trying every pizza place in the area to find the best one and this is what I got for you guys. Starting off with the pizza itself, not the best I ever had but still pretty decent Grandmas slices. The price of that and a drink being nine dollars was a pretty good deal. but the things I didn’t like was took 10 minutes for me to even be acknowledged with a staff member across the counter. I will give them that they were actively working doing an order, but can you at least show some acknowledgment that I’m just standing there? I’m not asking you to drop what you’re doing what some general acknowledgment would be cool. The real issue came with my drink. I’ve worked in restaurants before, and I could tell that they do not clean the nozzles on their soft drink machine. The taste of dirt and metal filled my mouth as soon as I had to sip absolutely disgusting. What makes me think that you’re not doing a standard clothing practice such as cleaning nozzles what else is dirty in the kitchen? The inside featured a small dining area with table service. And there was also a small outdoor eating area. First time here and I won’t be making a return better options in the area.
I called earlier today, and realized my old go to is no longer offered (my own fault for not checking the menu with the new name).
I understand today was hectic with local festivities giving the restaurant more foot traffic, but the time it took to receive my order (I called it in 25 minutes ahead and waited an additional 15-20) was not acceptable.
Again, I understand they were busy, but if you have seemingly new staff and are overwhelmed in the restaurant, maybe don’t take over-the-phone orders. I was also quoted the wrong price, $10 difference, over the phone. When I came in one of the women working the register said I “probably heard it wrong.”
No, I didn’t. I understand that they were overwhelmed, but don’t tell people that they did something they didn’t. I was told $54 and everything ended up being $64. Small potatoes, whatever.
The gentleman working the pizza oven was the one who handed me my food, which was left on the back counter by one of the other people working. Maybe they saw some annoyance on my face and didn’t want to bother, I can’t say. But I saw that box I didn’t realize was mine sit back there for at least 5 minutes until it was given to me. I looked the box over but in the large crowd and just wanting to leave I didn’t realize they gave us the wrong salad. I didn’t notice until I got home to sit down with family to celebrate a birthday.
It was my last straw. I had cooled down on the drive home, tried to empathize with the crew working, but damn it I was upset by the whole situation.
My family had been going to the Sundried Tomato for years, maybe even decades. After today, we will no longer service the Nesconset pizza & pasta. The food was decent enough, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. The family favorite is the rigatoni rustica, and plenty of other places make it.
The pizza also looked really appetizing! Will deff try it next time!
Highly recommend!
