The “Insider” Food Pick: The menu is deceptively creative. While they do solid traditional Italian (the Truffle Mushroom Pizza is a standout with a great crust), the real magic happens in the “Casuale” section where Italian meets Indian. You must order the Masala Bay Scallops or the Tandoori Pops. It sounds like a clash, but the spices work surprisingly well against the wine list.
The Drink Situation: The self-pour wine wall is a fun novelty that actually lets you try high-end bottles by the ounce without committing to a glass. Some of the wine selections can only be boughtby the glass at this location in DC other placesare restricted to bottle service only… If you prefer cocktails, ask for the Fig Whiskey Sour—it’s complex, not too sweet, and fits the moody atmosphere perfectly.
Verdict: Go for the Happy Hour to raid the wine wall, but stay for the Indian-Italian fusion plates. It is one of the few places in DC that feels upscale without taking itself too seriously.
Key Details for your friend to know:
Cuisine: Italian & Indian Fusion (e.g., Samosa Pao alongside Charcuterie).
Best For: Date nights, wine lovers, and late-night bites (kitchen stays open late).
Hidden Gem: There is a speakeasy downstairs called Sabina if they want a more intimate “clubby” vibe after dinner.
Don’t miss out on this speakeasy!!!
We ordered off of the happy hour and couldn’t be more pleased. Good service and good food. The restaurant is such a cool vibe.
We took a peek at the wine bar upstairs…and I can’t wait to come back to indulge in the self service wine bar.
We went downstairs to the speakeasy…..obsessed. We got two cocktails that were delicious.
the vibes are immaculate and the fire show is super fun, definitely will come back to try the wine machine
Their cocktail list was rather small and they also didn’t seem to have much in stock in the way of rum or other items we sought. Very few of the cocktails listed appealed to me, so I chose one on a whim and it was so sickly sweet that I actually felt sick after drinking it. We ultimately just were one-and-done here and headed out.
The vibe was great, but that was about it.
