Probably the best place to eat on campus, both from a food standpoint and because of its central location.
Docking a star because the tables are set up in such a way that it’s difficult to maneuver through them. This is true especially when it gets busy.

Satisfaction really depends on the student staff and who’s working. I’ve seen staff leave food to dry out/get cold, if you want something from the grill you have to be very specific otherwise your order will probably come out wrong.
For instance, in theory, cheese burger means with cheese hamburger means without cheese. This is not completely understood among staff. And to me the hamburgers should be seasoned and Buns toasted but unless you specify it will just come out blain. I get this is a dorm dining hall but still the service lacks in some professional aspects.

Neptune Dining is one of the most convenient places to eat during your day of classes. If you have a meal plan, the price doesn’t factor in too much. If you are paying to get in, you are going to dish out around 10$ per person, and while it is all you can eat, it isn’t very good. The food frequently sits out for long periods of time, and the pizza they always have always has undercooked crust. If you are student on campus, you may as well come here because it’s fairly centered on campus, but overall, it’s dorm food. Its adequate at best.

The food isn’t half bad for school food and the prices aren’t too outrageous either. My only gripe, as a student, is that I don’t know what is to be served the day before. It’s not too much of a gripe, but I like knowing when the pork sausage patties are being served during breakfast.

Wow, I guess I can review NIU’s dining services! I am a commuter student, and I was unaware I could eat at the dining hall. The food was actually amazing. I am jealous of the students who live on campus and get that delicious food. For me, it was $7.95 for all you can eat food! I gave four stars as I went for a cheeseburger, and they have a grill where they make food like burgers, cheesesteaks, etc, but I swear that was the slowest moving line in the world. The burgers came out great however!

Well it’s dorm food so your standards should be pretty low. However it is still surprisingly good whether it’s the pizza, main course stuff, or extra side stuff.
