Nena’s Mexican Cuisine has been in business for over 30 years. Maria Elena Nena Salcedo opened the doors of Nena’s Mexican Cuisine with the desire to bring food from her hometown of Michocan in Mexico. Her recipes were passed down to her from her ancestors including her grandmother, mother, and aunts and are brought to the tables at Nena’s Mexican Cuisine. Our goal is to bring the passion and flavors of Mexico to you and your loved ones.

What an absolute delight and surprise. Was a weary traveler looking for a good meal. And I found it. The made to order tortillas are a thing of beauty. I am a self proclaimed Mexican food expert and these tortillas were as good as injave ever had. Salsa very good and my mean was excellent.

We decided to visit this place on a spur-of-the-moment whim, and I couldn’t be happier that we did. I wasn’t feeling too hungry and only ordered a carne asada taco. However, there was a bit of a mix-up initially; the server brought out an entire plate of carne asada with rice and other sides. After I clarified my order, she quickly fixed it. Despite the misunderstanding, which was minor and easily resolved thanks to her perfect English, my experience was fantastic.
The carne asada taco I received was the best I’ve ever had, even surpassing those I’ve tried in Mexico! The tortilla and ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the carne asada was seasoned to perfection. This taco joint has now become my go-to spot in Sacramento.
I can’t recommend it enough! The vibrant interior not only offers a lively atmosphere but also beautifully showcases the richness of Mexican culture. If you’re in the area, be sure to give this place a try!

I’m glad this is where my family decided to eat before heading back home from our trip. The food is authentic, tortillas are hand made and they even had mariachi. Aside from the food being delicious, the staff was friendly and made seating accommodations for our big party ( party of 8 or more, the bill cannot be split) . It does unfortunately get a little too loud between talking within your table and the staff with the mariachi going table to table for song requests (first song free, $20 each song after) but overall it was a pretty good vibe. I wouldn’t definitely want to go back to try more of their menu.

Our first time in Nenas Mexican authentic restaurant. Very cool entrance with wood carvings. It needs a good washing down and some touch-ups. To be authentic to Mexico,you don’t need to bring the dirty look, poor condition. BEER BOTTLE OUT SIDE ON GROUND.
The service was fine,but when I ask about a dish, she couldn’t answer my question. Basic question about sauce on meat. It tasted good, I just wanted to know. My wife like her shrimp enchilada plate. I ordered three item combo. Looked good tasted good. See pictures with this post. The chips were not good,I think they came from a box bulk tortillas chip. Also stale.

We were craving a “Caldo”(soup) and came here. We got a Beef Soup & Shrimp Soup. It was good, but had waaay to much juice/broth for the 3 pieces of beef I got. I’m used to having a good amount of veggies, but this one really lacked it. However, the homemade flour tortillas were great!

The food is amazing here my family and I love it. Unfortunately my mom had a horrible experience with one of the servers. They pick and choose who they want to actually give good service. I’ve always said if the service is bad the food isn’t even worth going. It ruins one’s experience and day.
