The food is 10/10—the steak fries are perfect and those Mango Habanero wings were absolutely hopping, especially with their homemade ranch!
I really want to recognize the girl working there—she is so beautiful and has the best energy. They actually turned the music down out of consideration when we walked in, but she was so cool when I asked her to turn it back up so we could vibe out while we ate. Huge shout-out to her and the guy who took our orders both days; they are always smiling and make you feel like family. Best food and best people in Oxford!
Edit: have been back and tried the wings! They are just the right amount of crispy and saucy. Absolutely loved them! Also got a salad and the ingredients were so fresh.
The pizza was big for a “small,” and it had a nice thing crust with really good flavor. The wings? OMG! So good! Great flavor. Crispy. Good size, and they came with super addictive fries, celery, carrots, and ranch. I got the eggplant parm with fettuccine (they let you pick your pasta – FYI). Nice and crispy, very cheesy. Sauce tasted fresh. Washed everything down with a large glass bottle coke, and got a tiramisu to go (was delicious – btw)
Nothing was overly greasy, mushy, or too salty, like other Italian food spots in Oxford and Henderson.
The service was excellent! Very friendly staff, eager to please. The restaurant was very clean and cozy. It is a family run spot, and they take great pride in it.
If you’re tired of the same old -ish in the Henderson/Oxford area, give Nelson’s Pizza House a try.
The kids ate the heck out of a small cheese pizza and my wife and I shared a Small Carlin/Basil/Mushroom. Very pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste!
I definitely recommend this place to anybody.
Nelson’s Pizza House is a delightful find near the charging stations and Walmart in Oxford, NC. The pizza by the slice was hot, fresh, and full of flavor—perfect for a quick bite or casual lunch. I also tried the Caprese panini, and it was absolutely incredible—fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and basil on perfectly toasted bread. The atmosphere is quaint and welcoming, making it a great stop whether you’re passing through or a local. Highly recommend!
Tried this place because a coworker recommended it. He knows we’re picky about our pizza and wings, and we usually have to go to Youngsville. This place is located in the Walmart parking lot, where Dulce Maria’s used to be, near Toro’s.
Skeptical, we decided to try it. We do love supporting small businesses, and we didn’t feel like driving for 30 minutes after a long day.
Pizza: Cheesy, nice thing crust, good flavor, not greasy and salty like George’s.
Wings w/ Fries: Crispy, good size, good flavor. I am super picky about my wings, and rarely find wings I’ll order again. These were my perfect wings. And the fries have that crisper coating that make them so addictive. I’m not even a big fry person, those were good.
Eggplant Parm w/ Fettucine: eggplant was NOT mushy, pasta was cooked perfectly (not overcooked), sauce was good and tasted fresh, and oh… so much cheese! The pull was amazing.
Tiramisu: Creamy, thick, not too sweet, good size piece.
Good drink variety, we opted for a couple of the big GLASS bottles of Coca-Cola (cuz coke in the glass bottle always tastes better for some reason).
Service: Great! Friendly! Pops was cooking in the back, and came out to see if we liked his food. You can really see that family takes pride in their work.
Great little spot!
