I was annoyed when I first arrived at Nelson’s due to peak traffic hassles on Preston Road.
However, I was greeted and seated immediately and enjoyed attentive service, good food and a pleasant clean atmosphere. I had the steak sandwich, which I enjoyed.
Improvement opportunities may include adding an IPA to the beer list.

We ordered to go this evening. I had the chicken tenders and sweet potato massers. Husband had Bison meatloaf with mashed potatoes, asparagus. Both were excellent! Glad to see they pack their dinners in cardboard containers instead of styrofoam. Back for more soon!

Went again and still fabulous! I crave the fried okra, so good! I the ranch dressing is crazy delicious. We had the burgers this time, fries were tasty! You should enjoy, friendly environment, excellent food.
This is an amazing establishment! Each time I come I try something new and I am never disappointed! I come for the fried okra, everything else is a complement! But seriously, I love the okra, super fresh and it is crispy and salted perfect. Red trout was ordered and it was amazing and I do not even think I like fish! Lol, I also had the catfish and it was amazing! The hamburgers are always ordered and my kids look forward to them! And the drinks are crafted! The staff is friendly and the selections of wine are awesome!

Neighbor’s – I stumbled across Nelson’s Neighborhood Grill on Preston Road, and wow, what a find! This place feels like a cozy little spot you’d find in your hometown, with a vibe that’s super welcoming. The food? Absolutely amazing! They have a great menu – Steaks, Elk, Bison, Chicken, Seafood — Their burgers are juicy and packed with flavor, and the salads are so fresh they taste like they came straight from a garden. Brian is the owner – super nice guy – don’t be surprised if he himself waits on you… If you’re in the area, you gotta check it out!

My best friend drove an hour and a half to eat at Nelson’s again. She loves it. She had the steak again, I tried the bison meatloaf. Really good. We had appetizers, martinis, a wedge salad and 2 entrees. Brian took great care of us, thank you Brian. We’ll definitely be back a third time. Highly recommend, no complaints. Food, service and drinks…..outstanding

Went there for lunch. The remodeled atmosphere is cute. I got the salad with shrimp and he got the salmon plate. The salad and shrimp were huge! Light and refreshing. His salmon was cooked and seasoned very well. Asparagus side seemed a little skimpy. Lots of shrimp in the gumbo, which was tasty but not too exciting. Feels like it should be full service instead of counter service, the cashier did let us know it would be full service soon. Not sure if their bar is open yet but we were impressed with the selection of nice whiskeys on display. Think this new place definitely has potential.

Was excited to try this new place. The service was a bit slow. However, the fried catfish and shrimp were very fresh and flavorful!! The cocktail and tarter sauces were tasty, too. I enjoyed the Waldorf salad. It was very fresh. The grilled salmon was flavorless and was raw in the middle, definitely not medium as I requested. We might go again, I’ll just skip the salmon.

If you are looking for a great meal at a good price, check out Nelson’s. I’ve driven by for years and had my doubts about trying it because they never looked busy. Now, I don’t understand why they aren’t packed. The food and drinks were amazing and the service even better.
I almost didn’t write this review because we love the fact that we were able to get a table on a Friday night at 7. If you aren’t sure, definitely check it out. It is worth it! Steaks are cut fresh daily. If you don’t feel like cooking one night, call ahead and pull through the drive thru to get a great meal.

Service was impeccable. Food was above decent. I enjoyed the lobster and crab dip with house made chips. The dip was more cheese base and not cream based. I also had the fried catfish and fries. The catfish portion was small for the price. The food was fresh.
