This was our 1st visit. The chicken fried steak was very good. The brisket nachos were good. However, the vegetables – mashed potatoes, green beans, potato salad were bland – definitely needed some seasoning. My husband said the baked beans were too saucy. Service was nice, but very slow because 1 young man appeared to be doing everything. He greeted us when we came in, took our order, served our dinner, & checked us out. It took a long time to get our food. We were told they ran out of chicken fried steak right before we got there. It was their dinner special which was why we decided to try it, of course. We were there for 1-1/2 hours & there were only 2 of us.

I was pretty excited about trying this place because of the good reviews; let’s just say disappointed is an understatement. I ordered the brisket platter with potato salad, mac & cheese and a roll. First off it was the slowest BBQ place I’ve ever been to. Both my wife and I had cold food. First time I have ever had BBQ without BBQ sauce, so I asked and got a tiny cup. The brisket was sub par (like no taste at all.) The same could be said about the mac &cheese and potato salad; very bland like they were out of a sure fine box and cold. Even the roll was cold!

I hope that I just caught them on a bad day, although I won’t be going back to see if I’m right. I know it just opened so hopefully they can step up their game. Joshua is tough for restaurants and a sub-par place isn’t going to cut it.

My husband and I visited a few nights ago. We were excited! Have been waiting ANXIOUSLY for them to open. We LOVED ordering from their truck.

We really liked the interior of the new dining room and the decor. Cute!
The lady who took us to our table was bubbly and fun.
The menu is extensive and yet not overwhelming. Good thing.
THE BRISKET IS AMAZING!!!
THE FULLY LOADED BAKED POTATO IS AMAZING!!!

Can’t give a five star review, though.

It took 45 minutes to get our food and we were the only ones in the place for the first 20 to 25/min we were there. The meat should have already been cooked, right? Isn’t that something that’s cooked overnight? In fact, we didn’t order anything–I wouldn’t think–that shouldn’t have already been at least partially cooked and almost ready for plating. Loaded baked potato, brisket and sausage plate with corn and potato salad. Why would that take 45 minutes? What’s worse? The sausage was stone cold. It tasted delicious! But, it was cold.

We complained to the waitress who shrugged her shoulders with a “whatcha gonna do” attitude and walked away. Which was a whole other issue…

Don’t get me wrong. I REALLY want these folks to succeed. I live nearby and love the idea of being so close to some of the best brisket I’ve ever had.

I will go back. The brisket is just too good. Truly. But, next time I’ll bring a book.

Picked up to go food, and brought it back to the house. Everything was spectacular. Tried the pulled pork, the pork tenderloin, the brisket, and the sausage. We also tried several sides. The whole meal was spectacular. I can’t vouch for the dining experience but the food is great!

The staff was very friendly and treated you like friends. The atmosphere was great. The food was fabulous! Meat tender and juicy. Portions great and prices reasonable for the quality and amount of food. We will definitely go back. I even took pics of my food it was so good!

We ate there the first week it was opened. We had sliced bbq sandwiches and they were really good. So we got an order to go today and it was horrible!! The chopped beef was tough and the fries were really greasy and tasted old. I hate it since it is right around the corner from us and it would have been nice to have a decent bbq place close.

The building may look small but the charm and food is outstanding. Very large portions cooked with love and perfection. Extremely clean, comfortable and very friendly family owned business. A must eat with a great selection. With very reasonable prices.

Place is located in Joshua off the Hwy. I live near by and have tried this BBq twice. First time I was give my meal free due to the cook under cooking a chicken fried steak.
So to be safe figured I would go with a texas Brisket sandwich and fries. It was Ok to say the most… The meat was dry and fries were under cooked. My wife ordered a burrito LOOKed like something from home and meat was dry….

Delicious BBQ and chicken fried steak! Not your typical BBQ joint. In addition to BBQ they have burgers, steak and grilled chicken. Wonderful homemade food at great prices!
