Excellent tasting food and many food and desert choices. Price for the buffet is on point with the many items you get to choose from. Service is great. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean.
A few more weekend visits to this establishment and they have been pretty consistent.

The variety is amazing from the salad bar to the entrees to the dessert selections. A can’t miss meal choice. Warning, wear loose clothing. You’ll need the breathing room.

Excellent little restaurant in Saraland. Very good “Soul Food” based buffet. The entrees change daily. The mac and cheese was fantastic. I also enjoyed the smothered pork chops in gravy.

The food was pretty good, especially for a buffet. It seemed pretty clean. The girl at the counter could have been more welcoming. The air was pretty moist and smelled like cabbage. I understand why but not very pleasant. The place could use an air filtration system to make it better. Overall I would go back though

Overall it was decent. The best parts were the catfish nuggets, fried fish, fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. Other items were simply ok but overall it’s a good value lots to choose from. Our waitress was beyond amazing. Drinks come with buffet price and they have veteran discount.

We came for the first time after seeing the Nelson Barnyard Buffet cooking on WKRG. I saw succotash made on TV, I never had it before, so I came to try it. I liked it. I also tried rutabaga for the first time ever. The food is Southern Comfort Food, a good sized salad bar, & a desert bar. We came during lunch, restaurant was half full, we came from Mobile. Everything I had was great: Sweet Potatoes, Red Beans & Rice, Cornbread, Greens, Fried Fish, Catfish Nuggets. My sister got Fried Chicken, Masked Potatoes, Macaroni Salad. We both had the state desert of Alabama: Banana Pudding. I think they had Sweet Tea & Unsweetened Tea, we had Diet Dr Pepper. The service was awesome, bathrooms clean. If you do not want to eat in at the buffet, you can get a To Go Takeout Container to take with you. I think we spent about $42 for two people with a tip. It was worth fighting traffic in Mobile to drive out here. We will probably be back.

I have seen this place for a long time, and it always seemed to be busy after church on Sundays, so I wanted to give it a try, I do like a good buffet. My wife always resisted, saying she didn’t want to eat at a place called the barnyard. I was out by myself and decided this was the time to give it a try. $20.28 for lunch on a Sunday, that was my first shock. The food is going to be great, unfortunately not. The peel and eat shrimp was chalky and falling apart when taking the shell off, and tasted of all spice rather than a shrimp boil. The greens were bitter and could have cooked at least 30 minutes longer. The lemon meringue pie had a mealy texture, and the pecan pie was just not good. The meat loaf appeared as if it had been sitting for hours, and looked dry. Lot’s of foods I don’t eat, like turkey necks, livers, and gizzards. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, fried fish was ok. The wait staff was pleasant enough. I’m glad the family didn’t want to join me, I would have wasted way more money. I’d have been better off eating at Hardee’s next door. Needless to say, but I won’t be coming back.

This is the best buffet I’ve been to in the entire south Alabama area! Everything was fantastic! We enjoyed it very much and look forward to our next visit. If you’re looking for real authentic southern comfort food this is the place.

On October 18, 2025 we gave my mother a 90th birthday party there. And we had a great time. The staff was amazing. The food was awesome. We had family from Illinois, Michigan, Georgia Texas. And they all gave great praises to the atmosphere the food and the staff. I recommend this place for any person that wants to have a great meal with great people.
