Great spot to pickup some lunch! The pizza was delicious and the service was excellent. I enjoyed chatting with the bartender who was very excited to share about the halls history. I was told the bar top is original which was cool. Will be back!

We visited at the end of the season on 10/14/25. Our group of five went for lunch, but no food is served on Wednesdays except frozen pizza. We did get to join the bitters club which was super fun and our Bartender was hilarious as she shared the history of the bitters club. We also had the very best old fashioned I’ve had in my life. Don’t miss out on the Door County Cherry Old Fashioned here, it’s worth the ferry ride in itself!

It wasn’t very busy when we were there so we were able to converse with the 2 bartenders. They were both very friendly and it was fun talking with them. We also chatted with a couple of other patrons one of which gave us a history of the bar which was interesting. We had a good pizza that had an excellent crust. It was a good time.

We had the bitters shot for the card. Ask about it at the bar and they will tell you the story. Definitely a must do on the island. We also ate the whitefish dinner, which was good as well. The staff was great and really took care of us!

Joined the bitters club! Very busy, felt bad for the only bartender. Brandy Old Fashion was OK. Building is really cool and atmosphere was great. Made some new friends there!

At this point if you aren’t stopping at this place. You didn’t visit Washingtons island. This place is a town favotite and I can see why. The staff is super friendly and you also have to join the bitters club. I love the history behind it and the staff tells it so well. Do yourself a favor and join the bitters club. Then order yourself a nice brandy old fashioned. It’s so good, you’ll love it I promise.

Visited this place with my sister for the “famous” bitter shot. The bartender was SO RUDE. She FINALLY acknowledged us and set 2 shot glasses in front of us, cards, book to sign and then WALKED AWAY. She served the entire bar and then people that came in after us. At one point she looked over and said she hadn’t forgotten us. WTH??? She finally came over and poured our 2 shots- the bitters were right in front of us and we had wondered if we were supposed to pour our own. Not sure what we did to affend her but we were definitely being slighted. People around us wondered too.
Bottom line: don’t bother with this place. You can get a shot of bitters at any bar.

Not sure what people can complain about, I go here every time im on the island. Bartender works his butt off and the food is very good. It’s not cheap but what do you expect on an island. I would consider it a high end touch on bar food. Super good wings and burgers. Great place to start your island adventure and join the bitters club. I really enjoy watching people’s reactions to the shot of bitters. Also the cool old fishing photos in the bathroom always hit close to home for a lifetime wisconsin fisherman. Everyone we meet here including the staff is super nice.

Conquered becoming a member of “The Bitter’s Club”! Cool local history. The building is fascinating inside & out. Very good selection of beers, cocktails, other adult refreshments. Unfortunately we did not come to eat but have heard good things from other patrons. Bar keep very friendly & helpful. Need to visit for a meal soon.
