Nelly’s cantina style Mexican food is delicious. They have expanded, added a DJ and music to bring a hip vibe to the place. The drinks are full of flavor. The churros and Tacos are a must try. Everything is reasonably priced and quality has been consistent over the years.

I visited Nelly’s today with my wife and loved this place! This place is a local gem for us in Hicksville! We ended up having lunch with a few different tacos and plantina.

Very down to earth folks work there and they work hard to ensure every customer is happy everytime!
I ended up walking out without paying for something I added at the end and tried to call back to pay for it but the person there was an absolute gentleman and was extremely – even thou I made the mistake! Thanks again!!

“Great tacos, but today we went with burritos. Ample size. Good ingredients and friendly staff. Mexican blanket seat covers and taqueria metal tables- all good here. They have expanded the menu and are looking to enlarge the dining area too. Three different sauces on a nice little serving tray so someone is thinking. I like that. ” From the fall of 2019.
Allow me to readjust this review. They expanded. Nice. Bigger menu. Now it is very confusing. No prices listed except for the sides. We ordered Guac and chips. Didn’t recieve them. The receipt is not itemized. My son needed another drink. $4.02 for a lemonade in a 12oz cup? Never again. $48 bill for 5 tacos and three sodas? Save your pesos and find a truck and save 30 bucks.

Only tried 2 variants of the soft taco. They’re good, the green sauce packs a lot of heat. I didn’t expect it to be that spicy, but that made everything great!

This place used to be so good. They ended up taking so much off the menu just to focus just on tacos. The tacos are pretty good but for the pricing and quality of service you get it really makes you think about how “good” they really are. They also changed up the interior and made all the tables smaller (I guess to accommodate more people?) which was a bad move because if you bring more than 2 people you really don’t have much table room for everything you order. Really disappointed in the place. The tacos are around 3-5 dollars and I would heavily recommend just taking out and not dining in so already you cut out the mediocre service and save money on the tip.

I like the tacos here, the skirt steak taco is my favorite. I had one of the extra large tacos yesterday (it was more of a burrito than a taco), was definitely worth the money and was filling.
They’re currently in the middle of a transition with their menu, so they’re now serving almost exclusively tacos.
I’ve never had a problem with the wait time, but then again, I’ve only gone at off hours. The owner is a really friendly and personable guy

Fresh handmade Taco’s done to order. The place is SUPER clean and owner is always around. Wife runs the front-end, very nice and helpful when ordering. Highly recommend the (al-pastor) authentic with that burst of freshness from the pineapple and cheese blend. GREAT FOOD, cant wait to go in the summer when they have the fruits drinks available.

The food has been so good that I didnt dock a star, but to the staff: If we order cilantro on the side or ask for no cilantro at all it’s because we have the gene that makes it taste like soap to us! Please try to hold the cilantro next time!
