The food at Nelly’s was absolutely delicious and the staff are super nice! We devoured the fried pickles (the ranch dipping sauce was delicious) and we both felt the ultimate grilled cheese was the star of the two entrees we had. The portion sizes were also generous and a great price. Would def recommend stopping in!

We had lunch at Nelly’s Sandbar. The service was great the atmosphere was good. The food was good, but the bread was dry because it had no butter or garlic on it. I had the Greek Spaghetti. It was a vegetarian dish with a red wine sauce. The sauce was runny. It had no base to it. so I added grilled chicken and they charged me $6.00 to add a small amount of chicken. The dish without chicken was $17.95 plus $6.00 for chicken so I spent over $24.00 for this dish. I was disappointed to get charged $6.00 for a small amount of chicken. Their menu was overpriced for my liking. My granddaughter got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and the sauce was very runny. Not a nice thick based sauce. She refused to eat it. We took it home and I ate it the next day. It wasn’t very tasty. It seemed to be watered down. Not much flavor in either dish. I probably wouldn’t go back to this restaurant. My daughter in law got the BLT and she was disappointed with the bread and meat on the BLT. She said it wasn’t good quality meat or bread.

We couldn’t decide where to eat today so we took a chance at Nellys. We are so glad we did! Not only was the owner Mike really cool, the food was fantastic! On our drive back to the beach house we were talking about what items we want to try next from the menu! I highly suggest stopping by here to eat, you won’t regret it!

I was so incredibly impressed with Nelly’s Sandbar!!! We had lunch here with a pretty large group and the entire experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing. We were greeted by our friendly waitresses, drinks were replenished even before we finished our first glass (I had sweet tea and it was perfectly brewed – not everyone can make it how I like it!). We interacted with Mike, Lauren & Monica who were super helpful, down to earth and handled our tables very well. We ordered a variety of appetizers including the fried pickles, bruschetta, tuna bites, chicken wings, coconut shrimp, the special which was goat cheese w/ arugula – I highly recommend any of these appetizers!! They were cooked and seasoned perfectly and tasted delicious! My favorites were the bruschetta and tuna bites as not many restaurants can perfect it – seared to perfection. The entree I ordered was the scallop basket w/ side of fries & was highly impressed once again! I don’t normally eat fries but couldn’t resist the taste of these as they were seasoned perfectly!
Nelly’s Sandbar exceeded my expectations and will be coming here every time I visit! From the friendly staff, to the amazing food, and incredible service – you can’t beat it! ALSO, they played great music which is always a plus and had clean bathrooms which I always check at restaurants. They also have corn hole ️ and picnic tables out front so you can play a friendly game of corn hole before or after your meal. I was told they have corn hole tournaments here often
10/10 – if you’re in the area, go and experience Nelly’s Sandbar – you won’t regret it!!

Lauren, Monica, and Mike were super accommodating for our large group. I usually don’t like fried pickles, but I like that these pickles were not over breaded. The bruschetta was my favorite appetizer, I was surprised to see such an elevated dish at a casual restaurant. The bread was fresh, not hard, and the salt is the perfect touch. The wings were spicy and crunchy. The fries are well seasoned, and still crispy despite being thick. The fried shrimp basket comes with a cajun tartar sauce, not spicy at all. The onion rings are HUGE 🙂

We had the burgers, chicken tenders, and the fried shrimp and everything was delicious! The staff were extremely kind. Also, this place is open during the off season which is a plus for us because sometimes we come down and barely anything is open. We will be back! Thank you so much!!!

My steak was cooked perfectly & eggs cheesy just how I make them at home! My husband ordered the pork chop meal and he actually left a restaurant full for a change.
Kids butter noodles are a standout on the menu for the little ones. Simple yet delicious- I even took a bite when he wasn’t looking! The noodles were perfectly cooked and generously coated in creamy butter, making them a comforting and satisfying choice for very picky 6 year old.
Overall, this place is a fantastic choice for brunch! We even retuned the next day for the burger specials before we left town!

I came to Nelly’s SandBar on the last day of #createobx with K Cross Creative. I absolutely adored this place. It is in a perfect location, It has a outside patio for cornhole, and The food was incredible, I ordered the coconut shrimp which was the also special for the day. I paired it with onion rings. However our table got a basket of fries so I got to try both. The fries were so delicious and unique. Coconut shrimp is my favorite dish so I’m so glad it was on the special. It came with a chili sauce for dippings and I even had to ask our waitress Monica to bring more delicious sauce. Speaking of Monica, our waitress, she was incredible. Our team was pretty big. She paired with another waitress whom’s name I didn’t get because she was on the opposite side of the table. They both did a fantastic job. They were so attentive and accommodating. Overall the service was spectacular and so was the food!!! It’s a must try for OBX

What a great place! Little hard to find because it’s back by the movie theater.
The owner is SO friendly. You can tell he likes what he’s doing and is concerned about his customers. The food was so good. Wish we’d known about the restaurant earlier in our stay- we’d have gone for Prime Rib night for sure.
The restaurant is very clean, bright, and welcoming. Prices comparable to Chicken Coop and decent potions. I honestly can’t think of a bad thing to say. I hope it does well so it can stay open during the off-season (since tons. when we’re there).

Came in Friday night for dinner and drinks with friends. I got the ribeye and scallops and it was absolutely incredible! I’ve had steaks all over and I’ll be honest Nelly’s will be hard to beat! Perfectly good and packed full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We had such a great time Friday that we came back for brunch on Sunday and that was great too! If I could give it more stars I would. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Corolla!
