Four brothers and 30 years ago- a small Italian restaurant was born in Tempe, serving beef subs, Grandpa Cesare’s sausage recipe, Grandma Cleone’s spaghetti sauce, cheesecake, and our original deep dish pizza. Our little Nello’s grew into an award winning Best of Phoenix restaurant year after year, after year… after year. Family recipes, family genius and family drama all keep Nello’s going 30 years later to new generations of pasta and pizza connoisseurs.

Just made right!! I really enjoyed my personal sized Caesar salad with chicken. Fresh and overflowing, I ended up having to take the extra home with me. We arrived for an early lunch but it got very busy by the end of our meal. A bit too loud to hear my friend talking, but I guess that’s the nature of a fun friendly restaurant. The food server was excellent and personable. Definitely recommend!!

Staff is great. Also helped me with all questions i had first time being here was really nice. The atmospher feels good i like how it looks and different colors of the walls and lights. I had the sirra IPA delisious n smooth. I ordered the chicken parmesan it tasted healthy not greasy it was delisious. It was about 10 min mabe less was not really looking at the time. I took it for take out.

I hadn’t been to Nello’s Pizza in over a decade, and I came expecting the same classic pizza I remembered. I didn’t expect a full menu of unexpected variety, including chef’s boards. Fancy!
We hosted our National Concierge Association, Arizona chapter meeting on the outdoor patio, and Katie from Backbar Hospitality (which owns Nello’s) couldn’t have been more gracious. She helped us set up a welcoming space for our speaker on networking, a topic that felt right at home in a place built on community and good food.
I’m not usually a fan of boards, but for a group setting, they worked great. Neat, easy to graze, and surprisingly hit the spot. Simple stuff, well done.
If you’re here for the pizza or planning a casual gathering, Nello’s has evolved—and it’s worth a revisit.

My taste buds are thanking me. We visited on a Sunday morning, right when they opened up(11am). There was no wait and service was great. We started with the caprese board which was very tasteful. The pesto on the crostini bread was delightful. The basil and cheese were very fresh and olives were great. Next we shared the personal sized antipasto salad which was large enough for all three of us. It also was so tasteful. The dressing was light and the Pepperchinis were crisp. We finished with a 12” hand tossed Pavone pepperoni pizza. It was very thin and delicious. The basil on it gave a nice fresh flavor. I can’t wait for our next visit. I want to try everything on their menu.

This place was my favorite when I lived in Arizona. I miss it so much. I might move back just for the yumminess of Nello’s. The pizzas are so good. Service is always great. Prices are very reasonable. We always stop here when we are visiting. Still amazing.

Wow! This place was great. Greated with a smile upon entry and it never stopped. Party of 4 and we had never been to Nello’s prior. Asked our waitress for “bests” and she gave us her opinion in each category. That was great! One because it wasn’t “everything on the menu is great”. Two because it was options from every category for all members in the party. Food came out in a great time frame and piping hot. But wait the impressiveness did not stop there. I went with one of her suggestions but did not want meat sauce in my Lasagna. OH MY!! It was so good, I did not feel like I missed out by not getting the meat sauce. It is not typical when we all go out to eat, to clear our plates. They were all cleared. We could not stop eating even tho we were so full.

Excellent pizza. Crust had good chew and consistency. If you are on the fence about thin crust I would recommend it because it isn’t thin thin but medium thin. Took a little longer than we expected but the waitress was real nice and checked on our eta a couple times. I recommend getting there before 6:00 for happy hour drink and happy hour app first. 100% coming back for our next pizza fix!

We love this place as the food quality is unbeatable. We had ordered different types of pizza and loved the thin crust option. Their garlic bread is also tasty and flavourful. The service was quick and the wait time was not that long. Would definitely recommend this place.
