I took my parents to Hattiesburg on a day trip and found this gem in historic downtown. This small joint has a BIG impact! The concept is simple: cold daiquiris and hot, delicious fried chicken. The 5 piece was shareable since Nellie’s offers large portions.
Plus this family-owned spot has a very friendly husband-wife duo at the helm who made my family feel very welcome. Definitely recommend trying the Captain America daiquiri!

You are sitting outside so you don’t want to go if it’s going to rain or anything. However, the chicken tenders were perfectly cooked and big and we had a pina colada that had extra alcohol. Very nice.

Friendly service. Loooooved every bit of my food. Their sauces and lemonade are made in house. The lemonade is more like a tropical punch (contains a lot of pineapple juice) which I liked. The Nellie sauce is similar to Cane’s sauce while the Downtown sauce reminds me of a sweet and spicy Asian sauce. Food was fresh and made to order. Try it!

I had the Chicken Sandwich (bun from Breadsmith) and fries. There were quite a few sauces to choose from. The daiquiris were really good, and extra shots were only $1 on Fridays. I really enjoyed Nellie’s. Felt like a daiquiri shop out of New Orleans.

Great chicken tenders and fries along with their sauce too. Nice outdoor seating area. The chicken had a funny taste to it. However, food was piping hot when it came out. The sauce was pretty good too more tangy than other places. There’s a hint of herb or lemon, on the chicken, which was nice.
