This is easily my favorite place to be in Kewaunee! I come here all the time for coffee and breakfast, and even lunch. My favorite part is the play area! With 2 toddlers, it is life changing to have a place that I can bring them to where I can focus on work while they play. My husband absolutely loves their sandwiches, pasta salad, and lotus drinks. Their breakfast sandwiches and cookies are my kids favorite! The cookies are always themed and so cute and delicious! Personally, my favorites are their waffles, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, and caramel macchiato. But it’s hard to choose when I love pretty much everything on the menu! I highly recommend Neighbors Cafe and tell everyone about it. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re missing out on this gem!

No Love for Neighbors
I don’t like writing bad reviews, but Neighbors earned every scathing syllable.
Let’s kick things off with the eggs—if you can even call them that. Rubbery, flavorless, and weirdly shiny, like they were poured from a carton, zapped in a microwave, and left out to think about what they’ve done. I wouldn’t serve them to my enemies, let alone paying customers.
I made the mistake of ordering the avocado toast, lured by the illusion of a trendy brunch staple. What arrived was a soggy, lifeless slice of bread smothered in something green that might have once been avocado. No seasoning, no care, no soul. I left most of it on the plate as a warning to others.
The coffee came in big, diner-style mugs, which was the only comforting thing about it—until I took a sip. Cold. Like someone brewed it the day before and forgot it existed. At that point, I gave up.
The name Neighbors implies warmth, welcome, and familiarity. Instead, it’s the kind of place you’d move to a new ZIP code to avoid. Two stars, and that’s generous.

I love this place! Only my second time here but everything is great. I can’t wait to bring my daughter to the kids area. They even gave samples of their lotus drinks. A great place to get work done and enjoy the food and drinks. Can’t wait to be back.

Stopped a second time with mom this time. I had such a wonderful experience the first time. This one was definitely not wonderful. We ordered our grilled sandwiches at 11:50. There were 2 ladies who ordered right before us. At 12:20 our sandwiches cheese not melted & bread barely browned. I immediately responded with, “My cheese is not melted.” The lady walked away!! I took one bite & it was barely Luke warm. I brought it up & they did put it back on the press. It should not take 30 minutes for 2 grilled sandwiches!! The other ladies had to change the order to go after waiting 25 minutes. I was completely embarrassed that I talked this place up & have this happened!! We each brought half our sandwiches home. The following day put them under the broiler for several minutes & they were 100% better. If you can’t make 4 orders in less than 30 minutes, you have no business being a restaurant. The behof one lady walking away when I said the cheese is not melted was uncalled for. She should have offered to take it back.
Stopped here for lunch on a recommendation from some local shop employees. It was wonderful!! I know they have lots of coffee options. I’m not a coffee drinker. I ordered a turkey rueben on sourdough. It was DELICIOUS!! The ladies working were EXTREMELY FRIENDLY. There were lots of sandwich & salad options. The food was fresh. The only suggestion I have is to turn the music down just a bit. I’ll definitely stop again when I’m in the area.

Tasty breakfast sandwiches and decent coffee. I’d realistically knock off a star for the coffee – BUT these friendly folks are just getting started and still learning their way around that big superautomatic espresso machine. Clean, bright, comfortable place – and the kiddo corner looks sufficiently stocked with toys to hold the little ones while you have a respite (full disclosure – been a long while since I had kids that age). I do hope there’s enough traffic to support both this place and the nice bakery next door.
My chief reason for visiting was the coffee – and I think this is the only place within 10+ miles for an espresso (bakery is drip coffee – not strong enough). I’ll be back.

We were not expecting such a toddler friendly atmosphere! They have a clean and safe space your littles can enjoy and play. The drinks and food were delicious. They were so kind and friendly too.
