FOOD: The brisket here is tender, delicious and an excellent technical cook. The flavor palate is squarely in the classic salt-pepper (a “proper” 16 mesh for a punch of spice) and the bark is a true browning, and not from a slather of spices burning on the surface. This gives a deep blending of smoke and browning flavor on the surface to the rich, rendered beef fat and meat on the inside. All-in-all, an excellent take on a classic brisket. The Turkey Cobb side salad offers a great contrast to the richness of the brisket and together, they’re available in a meal.
SERVICE: Service is always friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. (I nerded out for a bit about cooking methods and gear they’re using.)
ATMOSPHERE: I didn’t knock stars off for the faults of the Warehouse, but music can be obnoxious and the nature of people walking by you constantly while you eat is a detractor. However, as a lunch (I’ve gone both lunch and dinner), the vibe is right.
Maybe they were busy brokering peace in the Middle East or solving world hunger as that would at least explain why customers aren’t a priority at Neighbor Tim’s. After standing there for nearly ten minutes without so much as a hello, I gave up and took the family to the chicken place. The service there was quick, the young guys working there were nice, polite and the food was a hit with everyone in the family.
A friend of mine who owns several successful restaurants always says: “The service is the best indicator of how the food will be.”
I had the brisket sandwich and was really happy that all 4 sauces from thin to thick and tomato based to mustard based were all balanced well.
The portion of meat on my sandwich was great and the brisket flavorful and moist. Side was potato salad which was seasoned well and not too dry.
My only quip is that the bun was cold, dry, and slightly stale. I think a bit of mayo on each side and a kiss on a flat top or pan would make a world of difference 🙂
Kid that waited on me was awesome!! He asked permission to tell me a joke and rattled off three related jokes that were amusing. He then gave me extra ribs, I think because I laughed.
The ribs did not have a lot of meat on them and were pretty dry!!
The coleslaw is AMAZING!! The beans were good, not great.
Sauces are good.
So far, it is the best of the best Brisket i had in States. Im from Bay Area. The bbq is very pricey there. But this place is not pricey, worth it. Brisket is $15 for 1/2lb, baby rack ribs for $17.50 half rack. Very good price!!!
We had 1lb of Brisket, half rack of baby rack rib and small soze of potatoes salad for 2 person. Delissssssh…. Definitely we will go back there before we flight back home.
Dont forget bbq sauces, 4 favor… yummy
