I used to frequent this place for curry chicken way back in the day. This time I tried the oxtail entree w a side of plantains which I ordered over the phone, for a total of $26. All pick up & delivery orders are to be placed online via cell but I didn’t get the link, so I called it in. Order took 10min, it was ready when I arrived. The portion is very small, the dish tasted like it was slow cooked in beef broth, and the oxtails are very small for $19. I got one regular sized thinly sliced oxtail (little meat) w few small tails that had no meat. The oxtail was served in a separate container in a very thin sauce w few sliced carrots. The other small container had rice & peas, & small scoop of cabbage. The plantains for $5 were very dry and had about 7 pieces. For $25 this wasn’t an authentic flavored dish, and it was like a lunch sized portion. I remember now why I haven’t been here in years. For those who have never had authentic Jamaican food, this is a good Americanized version.

Great food and service is on point at this location. Not sure why people are walking out of Popeyes when this bomb place is right next door. ‍♀️

Very organized, I was able to complete an online order via text sent after I selected the option via phone. It sent me directly to the Web page, which was easy to navigate. I ordered the Fricasse Chicken in light gravy, Escoveitched Red Snapper (Vinger Based); there are two options tomato-based and vinger-based, and Oxtail dinner. Oxtails were great and had thin gravy, so it was not as heavy as traditional but packed with flavor. Love the fact that it was packed in a bowel so my rice and peas was not drenched and soggy. The chicken in its tomato-based gravy was very tender and the flavor was well infused into the meat. The Snapper was good as well. I got the vinegar and vegetables on the side, as stated before I like to control the saturation, especially with fried fish. The vinegar gave it a nice hit and I could change the flavor profile. Also, i forgot when ordering line when I arrived it was a contactless pick up. Food was placed in a warmer and I simply had to find my name, select the first initial of my last name and the cade opened. Really is a restaurant that is about quality and satisfaction. Just wish I could get some mac&cheese or greens as a side but it’s good not to do too many menu items so I understand.

I’d never recommend this place to anyone. I just bought the Jerk Chicken lunch special and they literally put a 2/3 of A WING and 1/4 of breast. Please do better with portions serving of protein. Though I didn’t order a large or small food, I also did not order a sample nor kids meal. Nonetheless the environment is clean. Service could have been better with the cashiers being more welcoming.

Y’all say torch but I’m from the Midwest and we say FYE. The curry chicken NEVER misses! It was nothing short of amazing! And I love the coco bread fresh out the oven. Love this place. From my experience, the wait isn’t long either.

Took a friend to get a taste of the Islands. We ordered 2 Chicken Roti’s. They were good but not wrapped as tight as it could of been so it was quite sloppy for guest and I to eat. Took one ⭐ off for that. Would visit again but order something else.

Order all the time through doordash. Always fast, fresh, and great with accommodations. I love the Jerk Sandwich on the coco bread, but I always get the dressing on the side and the plantain was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Definitely ordering again.

I usually never leave a review on restaurants, however I had to leave one on them. I came up to Washington, DC for my graduation and used this restaurant for the catering for the after party. There was not nothing on the menu that wasn’t good, everything was cooked to perfection. Real authentic Jamaican food. The prices aren’t even bad either. My graduation party was beyond satisfied, had so much food leftover. I recommend that everyone checks them out. Thank you again for your great service. ❤️❤️❤️

I ordered from this place back in like 2018-19 and when I recorded my food there was hair in it. I haven’t gotten from here since then. If you want GOOD JAMAICAN FOOD GO TO THE JERK PIT!
