First experience here for our group. Nice ambiance but the food has much for improvement. The chicken parm was decent but the pasta and white sauce was overflowing with pepper. So much that it was crunchy to eat and overpowering. Our friend had the grilled wedge salad which was fairly small and had rotting lettuce within.

The Spanish chorizo which is advertised as a stew was extremely salty and 4 out of the 12 mussels were closed tight. Those should have never been plated before leaving the kitchen. The table across from us had a tasty looking burger which looked appetizing. Maybe just stick with burgers here…

ABOVE AND BEYOND! We celebrated a 50th Wedding anniversary here. ALL staff were attentive and food was masterfully created ! KUDOS to the manager who greeted our Anniversary couple with Champagne for a memorable toast! The views are spectatular but the people and kitchen are the key to this GEM of a restaurant! WONDERFUL !

Not usually someone to review ANYTHING but I felt particularly compelled based on this experience.

1. Kitchen staff were locker room whipping each other with dish towels, yelling at each other, and singing at the top of their lungs so loudly to the point where everyone in the restaurant was looking at one another and giving glares to the kitchen staff.

2. Food was aggressively mediocre. Salad looked like something from a lunch room at a high school (romaine and shredded carrots). Salmon fillet looked air fried. Burger was without pickles and sauce … and was not cooked well. Fries had no salt and were the crinkle fries from Safeway. Apps were good… not saying much…

3. We were given duplicates of our dishes due to some being not cooked properly.

4. Asked how fresh the mussels were… waitress walked 20ft… someone else… that person then yelled to man in kitchen… man said smartass thing about AZ being landlocked that we heard from our table… she then told us the answer we already heard 5 seconds prior (the mussels are frozen).

5.Don’t charge $30-50 for plates that are unseasoned, over/under cooked, and restaurant staff that were yelling and hitting each other like high schoolers. Spent $215. Next time imma drive 30min to in n out. ❤️

Needle Rock Kitchen and Tap delivers on all fronts—delicious food, genuine hospitality, and some of the most stunning views you’ll find in the area. Whether you’re seated indoors or out on the patio, the scenic desert and mountain backdrop adds something truly special to the dining experience.

The service here is top-notch. Raven, our server, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She made excellent recommendations and made us feel right at home. And behind the bar, Mark brings the same energy—crafting excellent cocktails with a great sense of humor and professionalism. He clearly knows his way around both mixology and conversation.

The menu is diverse and well-executed, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors in every bite. From shareable appetizers to hearty mains, everything we tried was delicious.

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a memorable meal with incredible views and warm, attentive service, Needle Rock Kitchen and Tap is a must-visit. It’s the kind of place that feels like a local secret—one you’ll be glad you found.

Go here a lot for the atmosphere. (Food is sometimes not consistent. But the last few times was very good.) Pizza is excellent and the chicken parm ( I don’t care for the fettuccine that they put underneath with asparagus. Then they lay the chicken on top. So I get it on the side with marinara sauce instead.) Brussel sprouts are very good too. Hamburgers, meatballs.

Fantastic location and great atmosphere. Food was delicious. I am a doctor visiting from outside the area and we had a reservation early evening March 26th. The two hostesses were rude to us upon arrival. I would suggest performance improvement for your hostesses. The rest of the staff and our experience was wonderful.

“Needle Rock Kitchen and Tap in Arizona is a gastronomic gem set amidst the state’s stunning landscapes. From the moment you step through its doors, you’re welcomed into an environment that masterfully marries rustic charm with modern sophistication, immediately setting the tone for a dining experience that’s both elegant and relaxed.

The heart of any restaurant is its menu, and at Needle Rock, the offerings do not disappoint. Each dish is a testament to culinary creativity and dedication, with every bite reflecting the use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that sing of Arizona’s bounty. Whether it’s a starter that tantalizes the taste buds or a main course that satiates the soul, the culinary journey here is both rich and fulfilling.

A standout feature of Needle Rock is its impressive wine selection. For those who appreciate the nuances of a good wine, the array here is a dream come true. Ranging from local Arizona vintages to international favorites, the list is expansive enough to cater to both the novice and the connoisseur. Each wine is thoughtfully selected, ensuring that diners can find the perfect pairing for their meal, be it a light white to complement a seafood dish or a robust red for a hearty entrée.

Service, too, is a highlight at Needle Rock Kitchen and Tap. The staff is not only efficient but genuinely warm, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu and the extensive wine list ensures that guests are guided seamlessly through their culinary adventure.

The cherry on top? The mesmerizing Arizona vistas that act as a backdrop to this delightful establishment. Whether you’re seated indoors, amidst tasteful décor, or outdoors, under a canopy of stars, the views add an ethereal quality to the dining experience.

In conclusion, Needle Rock Kitchen and Tap isn’t just a place to dine; it’s a destination to savor, celebrate, and indulge. A beacon of culinary excellence in Arizona, it effortlessly earns a glowing five stars.”

My wife and I stopped in for lunch last week and we were both disappointed. I had the fish and chips and I ended up with three pieces of deep fried batter. If there was any fish in it, it was minuscule. My wife’s Korean chicken just had a bad taste.
But the view of the mountains was very nice.

Really great food, amazing view and atmosphere.
The shrimp queso and meatballs are very very good.
Millionaire burger is also amazing.
Happy hour after 2pm features a set of $10 appetizers and cheaper drinks.
Great service. We were even given a fan to scare away flies.
There’s something on the menu for everyone (kids, healthy, vegetarian, etc.)

A very nice view restaurant, so be sure to arrive before sunset. Staff was accommodation for table selection. Good menu selection. Food was fresh & well prepared, plates included a good amount of vegetables along with the main protein. Steven was our waiter, always pleasant & smiling. We always bring out of town guests here, & it never disappoints. Only wish their dessert menu included a chocolate item.
