2nd visit was Dec. 2 and again an outstanding time & meal.
We had our second meal in a week at Neds Irish Gastro Pub &
Restaurant. If we didn’t live so far away, this would be a weekly
place! D (Dee), she said either way worked, was incredibly welcoming &
friendly, and her smile would light up the darkest room! She was so
chipper & eager to serve! We had Addison last week, and she was really
great, too! Our food was great & I had to gave another spice bag after
my first one last week. My husband had the fish & chips, and my friend
had the Cobb salad ? again after his good it was last week! Everything
was just so good!!
We hosted my wife’s 60th birthday party at Ned’s for more than 50 guests, and I can’t say enough about how incredible the entire experience was for her. From the moment we started planning, the team, led by Gordon, went above and beyond to make sure every detail was professionally handled with care. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the night unforgettable.
The menu was a huge hit–Gordon catered an array of fresh and flavorful options including both hot hors d’oeuvres and an aesthetic charcuterie board that managed to delight our entire eclectic group. The drinks were equally impressive, with the bartenders keeping the energy high and the glasses full all night. And the live music? Phenomenal. The acoustic artist created the perfect atmosphere and had people dancing, singing, and celebrating from start to finish.
What really stood out was how seamlessly everything came together. Hosting a party of this size can be stressful, but Gordon truly made it feel effortless. He even formatted the pictures I put together to play on one of his big screens so everybody could enjoy a video montage. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had. If you’re looking for a place that delivers great food, great drinks, great music, and truly exceptional hospitality, this is it. They helped create a milestone celebration we’ll remember for years. Highly recommended!
Reasonable prices.
As for a traditional Irish Pub, this is not.
(Just on the spice bag, the onions and peppers should have a bite to them, not be cooked until soft).
We went again last night for my son’s 13th birthday and again a lovely meal.
Stephen our server was a fantastic waiter, hold onto him!
Corned beef & cabbage
Bangers and mash
The sausage rolls were a bit too herby – less seasoning and try a tomato relish in with the puff pastry & pork sausage (just my 2 cents)
Nice bowl of fresh veg
Also SO GOOD to see a children’s menu with actual dinners on it and not just nuggets and chips. Children eat real food too.
We did get desserts and they weren’t that good.
The bread pudding… I assumed it was a take on bread & butter pudding, oh it was so stodgey.
Got the cookie icecream for the kids, again they were ok.
I am surprised that a pub run by an Irish man called the dessert ‘cookie car bomb’ seriously!! Change that, that’s shocking.
The desserts should be more Irish pub…
A banoffee, a cheesecake or apple pie with custard.
Also there were no children’s desserts which was odd. Can never go wrong with 3 scoops of icecream for kids.
I’d be curious to see if the chef is Irish or a chef doing his best to cook Irish food
Anyway, we like it here – we will be back
Details: First time trying Ned Devine’s exactly one month ago. Went with friend. Fried pickles were good, cocktail was good, one entrée was on-point, but the other (my friend’s Guiness stew) was stone-cold. It was obvious the kitchen was off with timing the dishes so they would both come out hot. I would have rather that my friend got her dish first when it was hot, and then I could wait until receiving mine. Instead, she had to ask for it to be reheated, and then it was clearly microwaved, so it was hot on the bottom and cold on the top. She ended up just picking at it a little and taking the rest home to reheat another time. The dessert was a one-time chef’s choice and was phenomenal, but would never become a permanent item on the menu, which is a shame. Our waitress never checked in on us because she was too busy flirting with the bar patrons.
Second visit, take the same friend plus my parents from out-of-town. Friend orders the same dish (Guiness stew), comes out stone-cold, again. I order the same pasta dish, but this time it was just sad (last time it was perfect). My parents wanted to share a burger with fries. We had a whole conversation with our waitress about how WE DO NOT EAT WELL-DONE BURGERS, and yet, we still ended up with a well-done burger (we asked for “rare”, and our waitress said she put it in as “rare”). And, the fries were cold. Also, we ordered a total of two apps, three soups, three entrées, and they ALL CAME OUT AT THE SAME TIME!!! None of us have EVER been to a restaurant that has EVER delivered EVERY SINGLE DISH AT THE SAME TIME!!!
We explained all of these issues to our waitress. The best we could get was the burger 50% off, despite the fact that only half of the burger was eaten (because my step-dad was starving) and the fries were untouched. Manager was nowhere to be found. Whole attitude of staff was that they couldn’t care less about patrons.
This second visit was soooo egregiously terrible, we unanimously decided that none of us will ever return.
