I stopped by Nectar Café while visiting Auburn and it quickly stood out as a welcoming spot for fresh, plant-based food in the area. The café focuses on vegan and vegetarian dishes that emphasize whole ingredients, bright flavors, and colorful presentation.
The atmosphere feels relaxed and community oriented. The interior has a casual café style that encourages people to sit down, enjoy a meal, and spend time talking or working. It has the type of environment you often find in smaller towns where the café becomes part of the neighborhood culture.
The menu includes a variety of plant-based options such as bowls, salads, smoothies, and sandwiches. The dishes are thoughtfully put together with a mix of vegetables, grains, and sauces that create balanced flavors and textures.
One thing that stood out to me was the freshness of the ingredients. The vegetables tasted vibrant and the meals felt nourishing rather than heavy, which is exactly what you expect from a plant-focused café.
Service during my visit was friendly and welcoming, and the overall experience felt relaxed from start to finish.
Overall, Nectar Café offers a refreshing option for healthy, plant-based meals in Auburn. If you are looking for fresh ingredients and a relaxed café atmosphere, it is definitely worth stopping by.

I don’t normally eat vegan. I ordered a burger and it was delicious. The patty sides were crispy. The flavor was delightful. Everything was so fresh. I came in with a gift certificate, not knowing that the place had changed ownership. The new owner was so gracious to accept the certificate I had. I don’t get in this area often, but when I do, I will be sure to come here again. I would recommend Nectar to anyone whether you’re vegan or not.

The Nectar Cafe serves chef inspired salads, wraps, sandwiches, smoothies and veggie burgers. They make eating healthy in a fast casual atmosphere possible. The salads are generously proportioned and prepared to perfection. The taco salad ($15) is one of my favorites. It’s a delicious mixture of greens, avocado, tomato, black beans, vegan chorizo, salsa, Jack/cheddar cheese mixture, tossed in a tangy cilantro lime vinaigrette, chipotle sauce drizzle and corn chips. The employees are friendly and helpful in recommending something you might enjoy. The downtown Auburn area is a great date spot. There are plenty of stores to explore while getting to know each other better. I would recommend the business have their sign repainted, since it’s quite faded. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

My husband and I found this cute café on our way home to Santa Cruz and Im so glad we did. The food was healthy and delicious! We both had the BLTA and it was so good. And the cookies were great too. Nectar Cafe’ will be our go to restaurant on our visits to Auburn.

The most amazing vegan chocolate shake I’ve ever had. I’ll be dreaming about this! And the chocolate pudding we had to come back and eat again for my kids. I’ve also had the nachos which were incredible. Not many places can do vegan cheese right and they’ve figured it out. We will be coming back next time we drive through. Second time here and can’t wait to try more on the menu our next time.

This was an amazing meal! I ordered the Chipotle burger it was really packed with flavor. If you’re local you know, but it is so worth the stop if you are traveling through and want a good vegan/vegetarian burger. The pretzel roll was so soft and yummy and I’m not normally a fan, I am now.

Delicious and nutritious!!! I came here with my dad for lunch and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I’m vegan and absolutely loved the BLTA with coconut bacon, it totally hit the spot since I have been craving bacon since going vegan three months ago! The mayonnaise was absolutely delicious as well and the avocado was perfectly ripe. It came with a tasty side salad of greens and carrots with a vinaigrette, usually I’m not one for salads on the side but this was awesome and the perfect ending to my meal. My dad, a carnivore, got the Thai wrap and absolutely loved it. He even tried some of my coconut bacon and was so impressed we might try making some at home! All in all our experience was absolutely wonderful. The outside dining and to-go service was great, I would recommend Nectar Café to anyone looking for a tasty meal that won’t weigh you down!

This was my first time at The Nectar Cafe. I was bringing my friend to the area, and he’s a vegan, and he’d been at the place before…so, off we went! I’m not a vegan, I’m a pescatarian (only eat fish as my protein source), but I’m totally open to vegan food. We got an avocado bowl & some other mixed veggies in it (can’t remember the name of the dish, sorry!), and we also got the zucchini lasagna, and shared. Both were very good, and fresh! After, we split a piece of chocolate cheesecake. It was my very first vegan dessert! Really yummy. I’d definitely recommend this spot, whether you’re an official vegan or not. I think they have vegetarian options as well.

Had a fantastic dinner at a great price if you have vegetarian/vegan friends. Ordered the tomato soup which was ok but the star of the show was the Thai Bowl with Seitan (extra). Even as a meat lover this bowl still really hit the spot and was quite a decent alternative. The flavors are on point and the greens and flavors are delicious.
