They put sweet pickles and honey mustard on a Cuban, and slathered both over both sides of it….. One of the more disgusting things I’ve had the displeasure of ingesting. No pork loin, just ham, bacon, and cheese. Kids ordered a half pepperoni, half cheese pizza… There was no cheese on one half, and the other half had regular cheese and pepperoni. Think the pizza was ok-ish… But why? Told the server that the sandwich was wrong and wasn’t supposed to have sweet pickles, but dill. I got back a “yeah, I wish we had dill pickles…”. This should not be on the menu as a Cuban sandwich, it’s nothing of the sort. Service was lackluster at best, never suggested to take the sandwich off or back or remake it or anything.
Won’t be back here again, and wouldn’t encourage anyone to. If you have to, maybe go with the pizza rolls.

What a pleasant surprise as we stopped here only as a quick break from our I80 travels. It’s was off hours (1:30 pm for lunch) so we’re sat in the bar area at a high top table. Loved the ample screens for game days and the long line of taps for both domestic fans and those looking for a local craft favorite. Dawson was on duty and took care of the bar and ran around covering tables in the off hours and did it with ease. He gave personal takes on the hot chicken sandwich which was spot on and delicious. I couldn’t decide between the turkey sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich but he helped me combine my loves of both into an amazing sandwich – grilled chicken sandwich with the bacon and pepper jack cheese. Hubs got the fries so I ordered broccoli knowing I’d be able to steal one or two. The amount of fries was large so got to steal as many as I wanted. And the broccoli was delicious. Let me also add in how stylish the ale house is. Loved the brass art in the bar and the faux trees as a divider. I’ll plan a route down I 80 again to visit a 2nd time.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and NAW was recommended to us. We were able to walk so we decided to give it a try and we’re glad we did. I ordered the Ring of Fire burger and it was delicious! The fries had just the right crunch and saltiness. My husband had the Italian Melt and “it was really good”. Neither of us left hungry! They offered quite a nice selection of beers, both local and domestic.

I was staying next door at the Days Inn hotel, so this was extremely convenient after a long day on the road. It wasn’t overly busy, but I could see how this would be a great place to hang out on a game day. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I had a burger, salad and drink and all of the items were perfect. If I had stayed more than 1 night, I likely would have gone back again.

I have frequented Kearney on numerous occasions in search of an exceptional dining experience. This establishment exceeded expectations. Our server, Dawson, provided outstanding service. He expertly managed our table of eight without incident. The cuisine was impeccable, and every dish sampled by our party was met with approval. The menu offered a diverse selection, complemented by an excellent beverage program. I would enthusiastically recommend a return visit.

We were passing through Kearney, Nebraska and stopped at Nebraska Ale works.
The food was good. The service was as well.
The bar was incredibly loud though.
So we decided to get it to go.
Been passing through Kearney for years and used to go to that location when it was Old Chicago and I don’t remember it being that loud…
But we were satisfied with their dinner and will probably sit on the restaurant side next time.
Simple decor, but quieter.

We stopped back Nebraska Ale Works this is our third and final time.
Three strikes your out!
The food has been good, but the atmosphere is terrible but this last time we went, it was all terrible!
We sat at the bar for 15 minutes. She didn’t even look at us and waited on people that seated after we did.
The server was awesome!
He took our order very carefully and did great when my burger came it was medium well no sign of pink and they were taking temperatures.
It was busy and no one got back to us until my partner finished his food and I sat there the entire time my food is obviously away from me, and there was obviously a problem.
The manager came and she redid the burger, and it was still overdone!
I was stunned!
Anyway, we won’t be back!

This place is pretty good, I’d say better than the Old Chicago that used to be there. They have good food, a great selection of beers, including local brews, and the service is decent. I would recommend giving this place a try!

Two stars and that’s being generous. Sunday evening and it wasn’t busy, maybe a dozen cars in the lot. I took a seat at the bar since it was just myself and was met by the bartender in under a minute. He gave me menus and said he’d be back. About 10 minutes later he came back and I ordered the Ranch Water, the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli as sides. I’ll start with the cocktail: horrible. I get this is a riff on the classic tequila cocktail, but it was so sweet that it should’ve just been called a margarita. I could not drink it past half because it was too syrupy at the bottom. The meal: I would rate this as one step below what applebees serves. The chicken fried steak was a slight bit doughy on the inside, the pasty gravy was obviously package made as was the instant mashed potatoes – zero texture, all mush. The broccoli, well… if there was anything good about this meal, it was that, but the caveat was that there was little of it. I doubt I’d ever come back. Not worth the $32.50 – sorry, try a little harder on quality.

We have been here a handful of times and REALLY wanted to give this place a fair shake but it’s honestly kind of hard to recommend.
Some of the entrees are okay but the sides don’t match the quality of what they are paired with. Considering the price, that shouldn’t be an issue. This goes for their condiments as well. The ketchup, mustard, etc. are some third-party brand you’ve never heard of that taste like they’re made for a dollar store.
If you sit at the bar the service is okay. At a table, though, the servers might come back once or twice, NEVER offer refills (we have always had to ask, every visit, every time) and if you have a problem with an entree they don’t offer any solution or to have a manager come over. Just “sorry about that.” Especially in today’s economy, if someone comes to a sit down restaurant they want more than just food, they WANT to be waited on. I don’t want to have to ask to have my soft drink refilled after I drank nearly all of it in the 15 minutes after you dropped it off and came back to get our order.
Our last visit, a manager was there on our way out (tall guy, low voice) and he asked how everything was. I said “honestly, the servers need to be a bit more attentive to food issues and refills.” Instead of trying to get more information why that was my experience, he just said “we’ll work on that. Hope you come back again.”
