I went to this restaurant this last week, on Friday and then again on Sunday. On Friday, I ordered yellowtail and white tuna sashimi and a scallop appetizer. The sashimi was soooo fresh and so good! The best sashimi I have found in Santo Domingo, so much so that I told my mom about it! My only complaint about Friday was how short staffed it was. I placed an order for two dishes to go (a roll and tuna tartare) and it took 45 minutes for me to receive that order. The kitchen must’ve been short staffed and they also only had one server working the floor on a Friday night.
I took my mom in on Sunday for what I was hoping was some good sashimi. The yellow tail I received tasted too fishy and was poorly cut causing me to send it back and ask for more white tuna instead.
I asked the waiter when they receive their fish and he said on Friday. So maybe Friday, if the restaurant is not short staffed, is the best day to dine here. Otherwise I would not suggest ordering sashimi any other day because it seems like it can be a shot in the dark given they only receive fish once a week.
I’d recommend, but only on a Friday.

I’m from Korea and am hyper alert with the quality of sushi and this place was an unexpected delight The salmon sashimi was top quality. We kept saying “Omg this is fantastic!” While eating. Thank you for keeping the quality so high. You guys so deserved to be inside of Intercontinental. We packed sushi to our room and even the quality of Wasabi was top notch fresh.

Decent fresh Sushi. Could have lost the fake crab stick as that is not real fish. The raw fish was super fresh and good sized. The variety was very adequate minus the dreaded crab sticks. Plastic with fish ♀️

After researching Japanese restaurants, I decided to try Nau based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations.
The service was very slow. I had to repeatedly call the waiter to place my order, and even to receive the beverage menu. There were only two staff members serving a dining room that was more than half full, and they were clearly overwhelmed.
I ordered three different rolls, but halfway through the meal I noticed they did not include avocado, despite it being listed on the menu. I only became aware of this after overhearing another table mention the same issue. Had I been informed, I would have changed my order.
When I mentioned this to the waiter, she said she was not familiar with the menu. While she may have been new, this is not an acceptable response. A simple apology is not enough for a restaurant associated with IHG.
I will not return and would not recommend this restaurant to international travelers.

The second best sushi in Santo Domingo after Samurai. Located in the first floor of Intercontinental hotel.
43 piece sashimi plate was good. The price was affordable compared to Samurai. The atmosphere and service were top notch.

I went back and obviously had the salmon fly again. This time we tried the Nau Special Combination. It was a bargain for the price. It is hard to find fresh sea food at this prices in town.

The salmon fly and the sushi bruschetta were my favorite plates. I was surprised to find fresh fish and high quality food in this restaurant. One of my friends who’s been to many asian countries said she thought the food at Nau was very similar to the one she had in Japan in her most recent trip.

I always stay at the Real Intercontinental and eat here every night. The sushi is exceptional! I love the Sashi and they do a special roll with foie gras which is divine! The staff are super and always give 100%. Thank you team
