We ate here back on July 17th 2025 and we sat on the front porch with that gorgeous view in my photos. I got an alcoholic hot chocolate which was to die for and the food was very filling and amazing! We would definitely come back and we talk about it really often!

Really enjoyed the service and food, Dee was our server! She was attentive and helpful. We had the blackberry cobbler which was DELICIOUS and the salmon, also delicious, and the Waygu burger. Throughly enjoyed it after a long hike.

Dee was our server and she was a gem! We ordered the chicken avocado sandwich with the truffle fries and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was! The only downside is how pricey the menu is, but I won’t dock for it. We were full after eating here, which is always a plus!

Bison Meatloaf and crab cakes hit the spot for the two of us. I’m usually not a meatloaf fan but theirs is delicious. Perfect meal after a trek upto Muir. And they have ice cold Rainier in bottles, never tasted so good!

We had a great meal here with our large group. They did an excellent job with both the food and the service. This post is about a little old, but I’m sure they are still doing a wonderful job. Our server was a Rockstar…

My experience at the National Park Inn Dining Room is much different than others. Showed up right as lunch was starting and was immediately seated. Since I was in the middle of my Wonderland Trail circuit, I asked if there were any plugs available to recharge my battery bank and was seated at a table with a plug. Very helpful for us backpackers for sure!
Our waitress, Pia (I believe), was amazing! She was very enthusiastic, very attentive, and really seemed to love what she does.
I absolutely LOVED the waghu burger with Beecher cheese! Cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious! I also opted for a dessert, the skillet cookie, which was amazing! (Hungry hiker that day for sure)
Yes, the food is expensive, but you need to remember that this is not only the Pacific Northwest but is also an inn within a national park. That aside, I will 100% stop by and eat here again when I visit Mt. Rainier National Park again in the future!

Dined here last night and had extremely tasty food and fantastic service. All the bad reviews are older…clearly they have turned things around because we were sat immediately and everything was excellent. The dining room atmosphere is charming. We had the mushroom bruschetta, pot roast, meatloaf and Mac and cheese. We ended with the berry crumble and chocolate cake. Everything was wildly delicious. Our service was excellent, thank you Dolores! Sit on the porch before or after with a drink it’s lovely. We will be back!

You won’t get seated quickly and the food is terrible. You’re paying $30 for a burger that the cook will serve well done even though you ordered medium rare. They provide u packets of ketchup instead of a bottle. Real top tier for a place you’re spending no less than $100 on. The waiter is horrible. Hope you not vegan, vegetarian or eat strictly kosher cause they will not accommodate and make fun of you for asking in the kitchen, which you will hear cause the door is open. Don’t eat here. Don’t waste your time.

We went for an early dinner today. The menu claimed that the burger was waygu beef and they charged $28 for it. It was mediocre at best and was over cooked. I’ve had much better burgers at Applebees for half the price. The buffalo meatloaf was charred and dry. The French fries were crinkle fries from a bag. This places only saving grace was it was the only restaurant within several miles. Definitely cornering the market for the park. Overpriced and not worth it. Our waitress was very friendly though so made it experience a bit better.

Like other reviews have said, this place is disappointing in quality of food and service. Although the restaurant was empty when we arrived around 2:30pm, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated. Multiple staff members made eye contact with us but made no attempt to seat us.
When we were finally seated we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. When we flagged a waitress down to order, she said she couldn’t take our order (understandable) but they gave zero indication when we could expect someone to take our order.
We ordered fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder and it was just not good. I couldn’t finish the fish and just had to settle on eating fries for lunch because it was the only thing that was edible once doused in ketchup.
When it came time for our check, we flagged a waitress down and paid on the spot as we were scared it would take another 20 min of us waiting – we noticed other customers were doing this as well due to how slow service was.
Don’t recommend coming here at all – you’re better off getting a frozen dinner at a grocery store and heating it up in your hotel room.
