First time going,it definitely won’t be the last. Crabcake with corn macque choux appetizer, spinach with oyster salad, and the Wednesday special, surf and turf. It was all delicious, server was attentive even though it was really busy. The area we sat was a little loud, it was kind of like a summer room, with a lot of hard, reflective surfaces. They did have acoustic foam panels on the ceiling which did help some. Get a reservation ahead of time, maybe a few days,as it is almost always full.

2.5 stars because I have mixed feelings about this establishment. Food is decent, not great. For a fine-dining desert like Slidell, this is one the better options. Serving is just OK, like in any other mid-level restaurant. They are trained to recommend the most expensive item on the menu, exaggerating everything about it. However, the setting and ambience is lackluster, it really takes away from the rest of the experience. And there is obviously zero dress code, not even a suggestion. People walk in here like if it was a fast food place.

Excellent lunch menu. Had the Pecan crusted catfish and wife had the fried shrimp. Both were excellent.

We took our daughter here for her birthday with some friends and family last night. We probably ordered most of menu items from appetizers, to entrees, and to 4 desserts. We shared all the dishes. The portions were nice size too. Everyone of dishes have a beautiful presentation and were delicious. Not to mention service was on top! I wished I remember our server’s name to mention her. Thank you for the memorable experience for our family. We will be back.

Nathan’s Restaurant was incredibly accommodating to our family during a difficult time. We visited as a large group following my aunt’s funeral, and the restaurant provided a private room along with a pre-fixed menu, which made everything feel organized and low-stress.

Everyone in our group enjoyed the food options. The salads were fresh and well done, and several people raved about the gumbo, calling it excellent (I wasn’t able to try it myself due to dietary restrictions, but it was clearly a hit). Parking was also very easy, which was appreciated with a large group.

The only real issue was accessibility. The elevator was not working, and since the main entrance requires going upstairs, this was challenging for several elderly family members in our group. It’s something worth noting, especially for anyone planning events with guests who have mobility concerns.

That said, we had the pleasure of meeting Nathan himself, and he was genuinely kind, attentive, and compassionate. His service and presence meant a lot to us on a very sad day, and we’re grateful for how well we were treated.

Overall, great service, good food, and a meaningful experience—just hope the accessibility issue is resolved in the future.

This restaurant was recommended to us by one of the waitresses, Chrisi. Although she wasn’t there at lunchtime, I’m so glad she recommended it; otherwise, I wouldn’t have noticed it. Lunch was superb! The lasagne was the best I’ve ever had, and I am an Italian-American who is used to homemade pastas. The salad that came with it was exceptional. I recommend the House Salad with balsamic vinegar. My husband had a club sandwich that came with lots of fries. He could only eat half it was so huge! But that’s ok; lunch tomorrow! The ambiance was perfect. I love to look at boats on the water while I’m dining; it’s soothing. Our waitress was exactly what anyone would want…friendly, patient, attentive, & efficient. She deserves A+

I was looking for a restaurant to take Girlfriend for our one year anniversary. I looked at several restaurants in the slidell area but settled on Nathan’s. Every aspect of the experience was top notch. We had Nathan as our server and he did a phenomenal job as he was very attentive and made the experience perfect. The food was amazing! We got the crab au gratin for starters and it was loaded with lump crab meat and tasted amazing. Our entrees were simply amazing as well! Coming from some one who has over 20 years experience in the service industry, i can confidently say, Dont sleep on this gem of a dining experience.

Update! 6/25 Years in. I don’t even want to spill the beans here. Best steak in Louisiana? Yes. The filet au gratin is sinful. Posting pictures. Best restaurant in St Tammany Parish by far. Shhhhh. Don’t tell everyone!

Good happy hour! The bar is small but great. We did Valentines dinner once too. Very good food! Their lunch menu is really awesome. The lasagna was so very yummy. They have a few good choices for draft beer too. Crab meat au gratin is a fabulous! Update…. Still totally amazing. The ribeye might be in the top three of all time ever (7/19/24) and my pecan snapper was sweet deliciousness! Update! 10/24/24 Filet au Gratin fantastic!

We just ate lunch in the bar at Nathan’s. It was our first visit, and we weren’t disappointed. The burger was just fabulous. I loved the Caesar salad. It was exceptionally fresh tasting. Cocktails were good-sized, perfectly made, and reasonably priced. The crème brûlée was the best ever. Service and atmosphere were perfect. Thank you!
