Nasha – East 7th, Austin, TX

Our food is all Indian and a little Tex-Mex. The curry blends are ground in-house, the ingredients are always fresh, and the flavor is always crave worthy.

Had the verde curry, the tikka masala enchiladas and the tikka chimichanga. I would get the tikka chimichanga again, the other two were good but not amazing.

Decided to try his “Tex Mex – Indo Fusion” restaurant for dinner. Started out with an appetizer of Lamb Puff Samosa and an ice tea. This was an excellent choice, it came with 2 dipping sauces one was sweet and the other was spicy. I had fun trying both on the delicious samosa. For my main dish I got Enchiladas chicken, this plate came with 3 enchiladas, spicy salad, and rice. Note this was kinda similar in shape as traditional Tex-Mex enchilada but was tasty and had a strong in Indian flavor. Either way it was a surprise but was a pleasant taste surprise in a good way. I enjoyed the fusion on this plate for sure. Service was very good and the inside eclectic decor was nice and leaned strong on the Indian side.

First time eating at Nasha and I gotta tell you it was delicious. I wasn’t sure what to get so the waitress recommended the lunch special which comes with a bit of everything as you can see on the picture. Everything was full of flavor very well worth it!

Love this place so much! Stumbled upon it yesterday and was instantly captivated by the menu. I ordered the chicken vindaloo with garlic naan and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Austin to date. Highly recommend if you are near the South Congress area!

A Truly Disappointing Experience

We were really looking forward to trying Nasha in South Austin, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in the city.

We started with the garlic naan, which had no salt or flavor whatsoever—completely flat and bland. Hoping the entrees would redeem the meal, we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (medium spice), but it was equally disappointing. It had no real spice, no depth of flavor, and tasted almost watered down. It felt like they completely forgot to season it.

We also ordered a fresh lime soda, and it was honestly undrinkable. It had no sugar, no balance, just a bitter, sour mess.

Despite voicing some of our concerns, we ended up leaving most of the food untouched. The only redeeming part of the visit was that the service was quick and the server was polite and attentive, but sadly, good service can’t make up for such poor food quality.

We’ve tried a lot of Indian fusion and traditional spots in Austin, but this was by far the worst meal we’ve had. Definitely won’t be returning.

Tikka masala was good, the shahi was different, but the paneer was quality. Really thick, delicious mango lassi. The naan was a little too thin and crispy. Would give it 4.5 stars, but love that this spot opened a South location!

Food was good. Not amazing, but good. If you’re a spice head like myself, get at least “hot” when you order. Atmosphere was cute, and they have some unique margaritas that you won’t find anywhere else. Give it a shot!

I don’t remember the last time I gave a bad review and I don’t really like to, I just want to share my
Experience. I went in today and we ordered tikki masala and saag chicken. From the get go our server was not nice. She gave us weird looks and was incredibly dismissive and rude, even though we were polite and smiley and friendly. We weren’t checked on at all, our food took over 30 minutes to arrive even though the place was not busy, and the food was honestly kinda mediocre. I was super excited to try a new place and was really disappointed 🙁 the hostess was friendly though, so shout out to her lol

Update: I got food poisoning 🙁
