I’m disappointed to leave this review as I’ve ordered from this specific location several times and been satisfied with the quality and portions. However my order from tonight (Dec-5) was very disappointing and I believe incorrectly prepared.
As you the image shows, we received two sandwiches which had almost ZERO chicken. The top piece was with maybe 1cm thick chicken and breading, while the other bottom piece is pretty much entirely breading with no meat. When paying this price for a sandwich here I expect a certain level of quality and believe this was not achieved on this order. I shared this feedback directly via email with the store (to the same qc email that the auto generated reply mentioned) but received nothing back. Hesitant to go back.

A gas station burger joint, located steps sway from Politics & Prose, might just be the next date spot. As someone who has never gone to In-N-Out, I have to imagine this is what their burgers taste like. Fantastic sauce, good smashed patties, and consistent execution. I’ve come three times in between errands and it’s my guilty pleasure. I like their waffle fries too, although their shape limits their dippability into the stable of sauces that they have on offer.
Nash & Smashed is absolutely worth visiting. There’s nowhere else on Connecticut Ave that can sling a burger as delicious as what you can get here. There is just something about chomping down on two Juicy patties, staring out at the gas station, that makes you feel like, “Yeah, this hits the spot.”

For restaurants, I’d say food rating is the most important one. This spot is in a gas station grocery store, so don’t expect much of an atmosphere or service, couple chairs and window seating area is available, but the food was really good. I had classic double smashed burger and fried chicken wings. The burger patties and toppings were really tasty, but the bun was alright maybe a little on the dry side. The wings were something else though, I really liked the crisp and how it’s made, but the chicken source is, idk tbh, because some bites had an unpleasant taste to it. Would I go again? I think yes, but maybe try the chicken strips next time, something boneless!

You basically got one dude (owner?) standing in front of a flat top / fryer slinging one of the best burgers I’ve had in the DMV.
Got the Nash & Smash of course, and added an extra burger patty for $3. WHOA. Burger = juicy. Fried chicken = flavorful and crispy. Seasoned waffle fries on point. Good Sauces. I’d be surprised if owner doesn’t have standalone brick and mortar within a couple years because this product deserves it. I can’t wait to go back again. I appreciate the value proposition.. fresh, filling, quality food at a reasonable price.
For those reading the (very few) negative reviews:
– No, this is not a sit down restaurant.
– Yes, it’s tucked inside a gas station.
– Drinks come in cans from behind the counter, not from the gas station fountain soda machine.
– Yes, it takes a few minutes for your order. Dude is cooking every element made to order which means your food will be the freshest.
– There is a skinny counter along the window that seats ~5 people you are able to sit down at if you desire.

Was a little skeptical with it being in a gas station but it turned out to be a very friendly atmosphere! Their system missed my order so my food took a bit but they upgraded my meal to a combo to compensate. Great food at great (especially for DC) prices. Couldn’t recommend enough

Visited the new location on Maple View Place. The best burger I have had in a long time. Everything was fresh and made to order. The customer service was superb. Definitely will be making this a take out staple.

We tried the chicken bites, farm house burger, mushroom burger, waffle fries and the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The cashier was super friendly and even brought our food over to the seating area for us. Amazing service.
My family will definitely be back to try more items next time we are in the area again.

Small place inside the Tiger Mart. Food was hot and fresh, at a great price. I got the Nash and smash because why wouldn’t you. Spice level of Hot is Hot without being losing the flavor of the rest of the sandwich.
Burger was smashed and to perfection.
