A local staple that has been around for a long time. The food is always good and the portions are large. The pickle pastrami sandwich is just ok. Too much pickle and not enough pastrami. Very wet. Everything else has always been great. The buffalo chicken is very good. Their soda is also very good.

My husband and I stopped in to have our last meal in Connecticut before heading back to Arkansas.. Special shout out to Judy for Her positive attitude and hospitality she and the other team members made our night, the Holidays were so rough for us this year with my Grandmother passing away this Christmas Eve.. it was nice to be greeted with a friendly smile and warm conversation in a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you so much! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I have loved this place since I was a little kid and it still brings me back to CT. Ham and cheese with everything can’t really be better. If I’m going through CT I’m stopping at Nardelli’s

Update: stopped in today and picked up a whole ham and cheese and a chicken cutlet grinder to take back to New Hampshire. The magic still exists and this takes me back more than 40 years to being a kid and having this same experience. I cannot love this grinder more. I wish I could eat here daily but I also love the gaps between visits because it keeps it special. Best grinder in New England and probably the US. Just could not be better. Seeing the 100 year celebration wrapper is awesome because I’ve been lucky enough to have experienced half of the journey.

I had a chicken cutlet all the way and my wife had the meatball. We were both extremely satisfied with our meals

I’ve been driving past this place for years, and finally had the the time to stop in. I didn’t know what to order, so I asked for the sandwich that everyone is crazy about. It was a large grinder packed with everything. Took me 3 days to eat it. But what a sandwich!!!
Don’t miss this place. Easy to get off and back on the highway, and there’s a gas station nearby.

Stopped in for lunch on the road. It doesn’t have a chain restaurant feel or taste. My grinder was good and the roll was fresh. The prices are fair. My only complaint is that I asked for hot peppers and I couldn’t really taste them. I would go back.

On 8/12/15 at 706pm. I arrived at Nardelli’s to pick up a couple of sandwiches for my night shift nursing job. A male with a mustache took my order and punched in my request ehile wearing those flimsy disposable gloves.
He told me to meet him at the register and I did. However instead of meeting me, he went behind the sandwich station and from the area of the cash register where I was standing, I could see that he was making a sandwich while wearing the same gloves he had on when he punched my order in on that dirty kiosk. I immediately asked, “are you making my sandwich using the same gloves you used to punch my order in?” He said, this isn’t your sandwich this is someone elses”. Whoch wasn’t the point. I told him I was good. I left and went to another Nardelli’s in Naugatuck where the service is excellent and the sandwich making area is more transparent and the staff are mindful when it comes to glove changes and sanitary practices.

Nardelli’s is worth a stop for a quick lunch. The grinders are freshly made to order using a unique loaf, not overly bready, but strong enough for wet ingredients while meeting those flavors shine through. (Contrast this with Subway or Jersey Mike’s)

Getting there from the eastbound highway lanes is tricky for a visitor.
