My family and I are visiting from Boston, where we are avid sushi enthusiasts (eating it at least three times a month). We have endless options for high-quality sushi back home, so we know what to look for. Based on the positive reviews here, we felt confident ordering from Nara Sushi, but the experience was shocking.
The food was a major letdown from start to finish. The Miso Soup portion was tiny and the flavor completely bland. The Edamame, which is pictured online covered in sea salt, arrived soggy and entirely unseasoned.
The worst part, however, was the sushi itself. We ordered a Tuna Maki Roll and a Spicy Tuna Maki Roll. The texture was revolting—the tuna was soft and mashed, with a consistency uncomfortably similar to cat food. We literally had to spit out the first bite.
To make matters worse, the attention to detail was non-existent. Despite clearly ordering for a group, we received only one set of chopsticks and zero soy sauce. It is baffling that a sushi spot would omit such basic essentials. Given the quality and service, I cannot recommend this place.

I got the Miso Ramen tonight and my lord! It was DELCIOUS! The pork flavor was so tender and sweet with the savory flavors of the broth tieing together. It is a must have for sure.
The sushi is ALWAYS top-tier!

Ive been wanting to go to this place for a while. Finally made it there! Glad I did too! The food was GREAT! Im not a Miso soup fan but theirs was IMO outstanding. The owner was really friendly and actually sat down with us to talk about their food etc… She was surprised I used all the Hot sauce for the Bibimbap that I had ordered. I told her I like things a bit spicy. She made a couple of suggestions for next time. I told her next time I would let her pick for me if that was OK with her. She was very agreeable! I think i should be worried? I will definitely be going back! It was a really fun experience and the food and owners were GREAT TOO!! Check um out if your looking for a good place to go for a meal in North Adams!

When we were visiting Mass Moca, I did a quick search to see what there was for food in the area and came across a menu for Nara Sushi – the rolls promised to be delicious and there were many innovative offerings, so we decided to give it a try! What a gem in the North Adams area!! The ingredient were all fresh and perfectly prepared. We had 4 rolls (Atomic, Chili Tai, Endless Summer, Mango Tango) and ate every last piece! Our server (the only one working) was speedy, attentive and incredibly friendly despite being the only one working a full restaurant. They have quite an extensive menu aside from sushi as well. Highly recommend!

Love it here. The craft of the kitchen really shows and extremely welcoming vibes all around! Definitely recommend the Heartbreaker roll and Yellowtail Heaven appetizer. The quality of the fish really shines and I can’t wait to come back for more. Plus, you can now order soju, sake and beer!

As a picky sushi eater based in the city, I have high standards, but this place never disappoints! The sushi is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The staff is welcoming, and the ambiance is perfect for a relaxed meal. A hidden gem—thank you, Sonhee, for such a great experience. Perfect place for a casual lunch or a cozy dinner. oh I especially recommend the Ahi tower and the dancing afterfire roll!

Went here because the rating was high, but was honestly disappointed. Food is pretty mediocre. Also, the ambiance felt sterile and was eerily empty on the Friday night that we went. We got the Chicken Katsu, Ramen, Beef Bulgogi, and Sushi. Everything was fine but nothing special. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.
