Nara Ramen and Sushi Bar in Boise is absolutely fantastic! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ramen is rich and comforting, and the sushi is always high quality. What really sets this place apart is the service — the staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you walk in. Everything comes out quickly, and they’re always happy to answer questions .

The spicy beef ramen is so good! Delicious mame flavor and wasn’t too spicy for me ️ Linda’s service was good and my ramen arrived quickly. I ordered 3 rolls, spicy edamame and another ramen to go.
I didn’t notice that the beef ramen does not come with a soft boiled egg so I ordered a marinated egg and they are incredible! I hope that’s the egg they normally serve with the other Ramens because they are so good! (I asked Wright before I left and I think they said it is a marinated egg that comes in the Ramen)!
Prices are totally decent, easily comparable if not a little more affordable than other sushi places.
Can’t wait to come back and try more.

Man I’ve been to this place twice and I swear every single time I go it disappoints me. I don’t even write bad reviews but I feel like I have to, in order to maybe warn someone who thinks it’s a good idea to eat here. Basically, my husband and I stopped in to get some ramen to go, right as we came in the waitress was not nice and had an attitude. She literally breathed down our necks trying to watch us tip too lol, we decided to tip after she walked away. The place just didn’t seem clean, both times I’ve been to this restaurant the cleanliness disappointed me actually. Then we got our food and went home and the pork was old and chewy, I was very disappointed. I ended up with food poisoning and I’m still suffering, it makes sense this happened to me after reading reviews. I basically paid 15 bucks for mid ramen. to sit on the toilet for hours suffering asking god why i decided to come to this restaurant. If I could go back…

It was pretty good…the ramen eggs are not a color we were used to, kind of grey and so was the yolk, made it unappetizing. I also prefer the pork belly to not be chopped into tiny pieces, never really had it that way. The calamari was too heavily battered which left some doughy parts but the taste ans sauce were nice. I would likely seek out a different place before eating here again, to be honest. But the broths were nice, the service was excellent and the cost was balanced for the amount of food.

This place was disgusting. The ramen bowls tasted like chemicals and the sushi tasted like it was days old. I’ve had gross sushi before, and that became #1 on my list. The utensils we got were visibly dirty and one even had a piece of rice on it. The table itself was dirty as well. We tried to complain and see if we could get a discount because we didn’t even eat all the food, but she said, “that’s how the food is made and if we didn’t like it we should’ve told her from the start.” I got the shoyu ramen, the pork looked like it was old as well.

This was my first time eating here. I was really excited because I love Ramen and being new to Boise I thought this would be a great place.
My experience started off great. Even though it was lunch time they weren’t to busy so I was seated right away. Before I even got the food menu the server was asking if I knew what I wanted and I said no, but I would take a water. (The water was disgusting BTW. IT tasted dirty) Now that I have menu I am looking over it. Remember this is my first time. I didn’t even get a chance to look over it and server again asked me what I wanted. I explained that I just got the menu and haven’t had chance to look at it. *this is same server who sat me at my table and brought me water*
Finally I figure out what I want and order. I also order a drink to have something other than the gross water.
When I get my food I have to wait for my drink. While she is talking to another server. Just chatting finally she gave me my drink which was disgusting too and when I paid she stood over me when I was doing the tip. I won’t be returning. Disappointed

Always excited to try a new place, and forever on the hunt for food that I’ll talk about for a while.
If you’re looking for a good meal, I’d say check it out for sure :). Everything was good: the chicken nice and crispy, gyoza flavorful, and the sesame seed balls were yummy. And the wife said sushi was good, but wanted more spice.
The atmosphere and vibe of the place is great and staff was very attentive. There were a ton of orders for pickup, and so it could just be my subjective taste.
Be different and try someplace new :).

I used to go here when they first opened and had also ordered delivery multiple times. After a couple years not having had it, I took my mom here for a special occasion. The edamame was so bad, dry and tasted bland. They got rid of their vegetarian/vegan broth, as well as the rice noodles as a gluten-free option. They couldn’t even provide sliced tomatoes in the ramen as they used to. My mom’s ramen was not hot. She said the taste was good but I could tell by her face that she was just trying to be nice. I remember how good their drinks were too but the one I ordered tasted awful, was supposed to be taro but tasted nothing like it. I had gotten it before and it tasted completely different. It has to be the chefs this place has hired or something because it is not good at all anymore. The waitress was so nice and I hope she gets a job at a restaurant with decent food. Never coming here again.

I ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls and they were the worst spicy tuna rolls I’ve ever ordered. Since when have they started putting some kind of breading in the middle of the sushi roll where the spicy tuna is. I’ve ordered here and other Nara Ramen restaurants in the past and never had a problem, but if this is the new way going further you lost a good customer.

This used to be one of my favorite ramen places, but my recent visits have been disappointing. Today, I picked up a ramen, and it’s the last time I’ll be giving this place a chance. The quality was terrible. The meat looked unsafe to eat, with several dark spots that suggested it had been sitting around for a while. The marinated egg wasn’t fully peeled, so I had to finish peeling it myself. To top it off, I asked for a side of chili paste, but they mixed it directly into the ramen, making it way too spicy.
