Nar Turkish Restaurant is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Turkish food. The meals are absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors, and clearly made with care. I tried their waffle today and I absolutely loved it. Honestly, this is the best waffle I’ve had in the U.S. so far. The Turkish-style waffle is on another level — so flavorful and so fresh. They also offer free tea, and you can get refills, which is such a nice touch. Everything tastes high-quality and delicious. The owner takes his job seriously and you can really tell — he makes everything with care and he is so friendly! I definitely recommend this place. It’s a spot that deserves to grow in Madison and be discovered by more people.

Dinner at Nar Turkish Restaurant tonight was Adana Kebab over rice, with homemade Très Leches for dessert (we’ll have to get their famous waffle dessert next time). The restaurant itself was very welcoming, cosy warm and pink. The kebab meat was deliciously spiced and grilled – red pepper flakes gave it just the right amount of kick for a cold winter night. This place is known for its Turkish ice cream and specialty waffles, but the main course entrees are also fantastic. Highly recommended.

OMG, honestly best waffle I’ve ever had in Madison. The chocolate on top is rich and smooth. I heard that it was homemade, but the moment I took the first bite I felt it right away. If you have a sweet tooth, just try waffle here. You won’t regret!

Absolute delight to have in the neighborhood. The food is so consistently delicious and with great portion size, and its been nice to see new dishes get added. Its one of the only places I’ve eaten where I want to try everything on the menu at some point. The owners also deserve specific praise, since they help keep our unhoused neighbors fed, and have managed to convert a barren strip mall slot into a warm, welcoming space. 100% worth a visit and I hope Nar stays for years to come.
