The pizza has been good the last few times we have been here. It is exactly what we look for in a pizza to share. Meatballs as an appetizer were a good choice.

The bar is lacking in the bourbon department.

The atmosphere is good except for the music which is to loud for such a small place.

Service was good. They do not seem to ever have more than a couple wait staff so it can take longer to get help.

It’s a sad day for the Hoover dynasty and their Indianapolis restaurant, Napolese. Our family has been big fans of the Hoover brand since its inception of Cafe Patachou in 1989, but ever since selling off to private equity firm, Won’t Stop Hospitality, there’s been a steep decline in food quality. Ordered a $30 meat lovers pizza and was sorely disappointed to arrive back home, open the box and find a few pieces of carelessly strewn meat on an already smallish pizza. Dustin, the manager that night, made things right, but this is neither what I’ve come to expect from an artisanal pizza nor the Hoover brand.

Chopped salad was great. Caesar salad was OK. Wife’s wine was flat. My old fashioned was good. Service was a bit slow. I noticed they pour pop/soda out of individual cans. Main issue: Pizza – ingredients are good. Options are ok. Oven is only 622 degrees? Neapolitan pizza needs higher temp (800+) using 00 flour. This dough was dense, like a Little Caesars or Papa johns. Charging $18 for a normal dough medium size pizza is not my fave. Crank that oven!

We spontaneously stopped here on a Saturday night and got seated right away, which was great because we originally were going to try Seasons 52 or pf changs but they both had long waits.
The service was pretty slow, but our server was very nice and accommodating. I got a mocktail, which isn’t on their menu but was tasty and reasonably priced.
We got the baked goat cheese appetizer, which I was surprised to see was mostly tomato sauce. My companion kindly pointed out that tomato sauce was the first ingredient, but I held to the fact that the title trumps the first ingredient listed regardless, it was tasty, if not exactly what I expected. We split the ready, set, bloom pizza. It has tellagio cheese which our server warned us is a strong tasting cheese but is well balanced in the pizza. I found that to be a good description. I could still taste the heaviness cheese in the background sometimes and it was not my favorite but usually it was not noticeable. The pizza dough and sauce was very nice. Overall, I did enjoy the pizza and my companion really liked it. I don’t think I would order it again though.
I would say one appetizer and 1 pizza is sufficient to be full at the end of the meal, no need for two pizzas, even though they are small. I am happy we visited and would consider going back under similar circumstances but it will never be my first choice of restaurants.

Napolese keeps calling me and I have to have to go back! The salads and their pizzas or pie as they call it never disappoint both in size and taste. The wood charred flavor to the pizza base is so delicious and addictive.
My salad had such a generous portion of feta and the slivers of smoked salmon added such a smoky flavor. I loved every bite and enjoyed the fresh arugula combo.
We sat outdoors and it was a perfect evening, just summer outdoor friendly. Highly recommend napolese – I sound like a broken record but anything for delicious food!

The last time I had Napolese was at their Broad Ripple location and I had a great experience. I was in the area and decided to stop by for a quick lunch.
Great pizza, great atmosphere, and a very clean restaurant. We sat in the patio and it was a great way to enjoy a pizza.
We decided to order based of our servers suggestions, he did not fail.
The Toast- Mushrooms and oysters was delicious and a great way to kick of lunch. We ordered the BLT pizza and it was delicious, it was very light and fresh. The bacon holds everything together, it gave the pizza the saltiness it needed.

A very nice place that most people might just walk by — don’t make that mistake! Very great pizza, and the focaccia is simple done right. Tableside olives are also perfect while you’re waiting for your food, and the service was quick and friendly despite being busy. Will be back again!

Was there with another friend on a weekend. The greeting from the young lady at the hostess stand made us feel like regulars, although we are not from around. The atmosphere is classic, neighborhood Italian place. The marinara sauce might have been the best I’ve ever had. The prices were reasonable, and there was lots of parking right across the street. What more would you want?
