Nano was very welcoming and the staff were very helpful. We lucked out and caught the Ohana bbq that was served Friday-Sunday The tri-tip bowl that we had was amazing. The tri-tip had such a delicious marinade and the rice and Mac salad were phenomenal. The spam musubi was amazing, we lucked out and got the last piece, I understand why it goes so fast. We tried a pineapple Dole float and felt like we were back in the islands. Lots of good vibes around. Thank you Nano for making us feel so welcomed.

Amazing hidden gem in downtown Half moon bay. There is a large patio in the back where you can directly walk in to order food and enjoy the ambiance with sunlight and shades. Their chicken bbq is amazingly juicy and delicious, I got two more orders after clearing a dish of “wipe-out” which was a combo dish of all the meats (which was also awesome. Kid friendly for a casual lunch, friendly chef and staffs, loved it!

The price seemed high in the beginning (around 30 dollars each before tax), but after we got it, we agreed it was totally worth it. The plate was big with a lot of meat. I could finish only 60% of the meat. The food was delicious and the staff is pretty friendly. We can seat outside, in the back of the main entrance which is a nice place, with the staff preparing the barbecue. Feels like a Sunday barbecue at the backyard.

There’s not enough 5 stars for me in these reviews… I’ve gone here 3 times with different family members & friends. It’s become a go to spot in Half Moon Bay 🙂

I miss Hawaii and whenever I come here and sit on their patio eating their delicious food it takes me back and it’s like there’s a little piece of Hawaii in California. The chicken bowls, shrimp bowl and the 2 for $9 spam masubis NEVER disappoint. Not to mention the best and kind service it was so sweet hearing them play reggae and talk about how much of a beautiful day it was while serving us yummy food. Thank you guys! Will come back soon in the summer xx

(p.s to the guy complaining they were closed on Tuesday god forbid they have a break in the middle of the week! lol ppl forget humanity. I won’t take it for granted! Aloha!)

Nano’s Hawaiian – Chill Vibes and Great Hospitality

We stopped by Nano’s Hawaiian just looking for a quick bite—some musubi and a drink—but we ended up staying longer than expected because the place had such a warm, homey feel. We first sat out on the patio, which felt like hanging out in someone’s backyard. It was nice and comfortable.

Later on, we moved over to the bar, and I’m so glad we did. Everyone there had this laid-back, welcoming vibe—like being part of a big, friendly family. To top it off, we were offered a Hawaiian drink on the house, which was such a nice surprise and really showed how generous and kind the staff is.

Whether you’re just dropping in for a snack or want to relax for a while, Nano’s Hawaiian is definitely worth a visit. It’s the kind of spot that makes you feel right at home

I really enjoyed eating here and relaxing in the back yard! My husband is Hawaiian and loved the food here. So did I! We went to the summer BBQ from the city on a Saturday evening with our dogs! XO

Very cool spot. Feels like you accidentally walked into a backyard, and promptly got invited to join the party. Food is simple Hawaiian teriyaki, but hits the mark. Couple beers on draft, few more in the fridge..nothing fancy, but great little hide-away type of place that makes you feel like you could be anywhere in the world.

The workers, the food, and the atmosphere are what makes this place amazing. The husband and wife who own this place are very down to earth people and are always greeting you with a smile. The Kalua pork and BBQ chicken were some of the best eats we had and the dole whip float was the best way to top it off. So good it’s where we ate for two days straight. And the atmosphere makes it feel like you’re at a family BBQ in the backyard. Definitely will return soon!

Unfortunately, our experience here was disappointing. The person taking our order was quite rude and unwelcoming from the start. He told us there was no seating available, and seemed visibly frustrated while taking our order. Even when we pointed to specific items on the menu, he was quick to say, “can’t make that happen,” without offering any alternatives or suggestions.

The service felt rushed and dismissive, and sadly, the food didn’t make up for it either — it didn’t taste fresh and fell short of our expectations. Overall, it felt like the staff just didn’t care about the customer experience.

Not open Tuesday?! Google says it’s open and I was able to successfully place online order only to find restaurant was closed upon picking up order. There was a paper posted in window, displaying days/hours of operation. Cost me 30 min on a weeknight where I have a tight turnaround with kids in tow. I would have been considerate for the restaurant to update their Google listing, and turn off the online ordering instead of allow me to fully make/pay for order.
