Nando’s came highly recommended by several people so I thought I’d give it a try.

There are several locations. I just happen to be going past this one at lunch time.
The host was very polite and greeted me quickly, I received chips and salsa, both mild and spicy, very quickly and both were good I prefer spicy, but I think the model is actually better flavor in this case. The waiter did a great job.

The service was a hard five, although I waited longer than I preferred for my ticket. When he did come back, was very polite, and brought me up to go box as well as a to go iced tea, which is very cool!

The atmosphere was also pretty cool although I’d rather hear Spanish music while I’m at a Mexican food restaurant lol, but I’ll still give a five of five.

The food was good, I had a cheese and onion enchilada, which is one of my favorite dishes, but my least favorite here. Just kinda “blah”. The crunchy chicken taco was good as was the Tostada.

I they did order a pork and hatch chili burrito to go, will update later.

I would come back, but I have other selections first.

Enjoy

Zeek thank you for the tamale recommendation! I ordered the pork tamale plate it came out faster than a rocket…. and absolutely made my day and lunch, since I only had 30min! I loved the cleanliness of your location, bar was clean and well maintained. The staff has made their regular customers feel like they are home, through watching their interactions with them. It was quite refreshing, even though they were bust they took an extra minute to engage with their clients.

Omgoodness!!!! This place is the bomb!!The food is so good, and the price point is not bad, especially for the amount of food you get. I should have taken a photo of our steak nacho’s. It was big enough for my husband and I to share.

Our service was absolutely amazing, I highly recommend Alexee. She was attentive and we never had to ask for our drinks to be filled, she kept our salsa and chips full also. Even gave us pro tip for our nachos the next time.

We had Nando’s cater our wedding, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless, professional, and absolutely delicious.

Tena was incredible to work with—responsive, kind, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day special. She helped us feel confident throughout the planning process, and on the day of the wedding everything ran smoothly.

The food was a huge hit with our guests, and we received so many compliments on the quality, flavor, and presentation. It was clear the team cared deeply about excellence and hospitality.

If you’re considering catering for a wedding or any event, we highly recommend Nando’s—and especially Tena. Thank you for helping make our wedding day so memorable!

If you’re ever in the Mesa Gilbert area or anywhere where there’s this restaurant you definitely have to go. The happy hour is amazing AFFORDABLE. The food is delicious. The portions are beyond more than enough. You will never be disappointed here. I love going to this place overall it is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in AZ. Trust me you will not be disappointed when you go. Let me know how good it is.

We love Mexican food and went here because it was recommended by some good friends. Everything was very good, except it is noisy once it gets full, which is does quickly. Can’t say for sure, but the beans seemed like the ones you can buy in a can. (Love authentic, home-made the best when it comes to dining out.) The only real negative for us, was the salsa. We ate both the spicy and the mild. Both were bland to us. We like good, chunky salsa. (Just our preference.) That said, we would go again.

I have been at the location in Mesa and we really enjoyed it a lot. I decided to give the one in Gilbert to try. The first thing I realize is the happy hour menu was completely different. This included the drink menu. The drinks were about half the size as the other location. We ordered the guacamole appetizer. It was filled with onions and you could tell it wasn’t real guacamole. The color was almost fluorescent and it tasted awful. When we let the server know, she said a lot of people said the same thing and asked to have it taken back. I’m surprised that they would continue to sell it as it was very poor quality. we ended up sharing the fajitas, which were very good. I had mixed feelings about this restaurant and the review because the other Nando’s was so much better than this one. The atmosphere was clean and the service was good so if you’re into a good fajita platter, I can recommend that however, if you want the full experience, I would go to the Mesa location instead.

I moved to Alaska 16 years ago from Arizona, and leaving my beloved Nando’s Mexican Food behind was a personal tragedy. To this day, this is still my first stop every single time I’m back in Arizona and honestly, I usually make multiple trips during my stay. I plan visits accordingly. That’s how serious this is.

Let me be very clear: everything here is amazing. The food is consistently fresh, comforting, and somehow always exactly what I’m craving. I have never had a bad meal here. Not once. This place is reliable, crave-worthy, and deeply beloved.

Now… the heartbreak. I am still not okay that the mini shrimp chimis are gone. Devastating. Gone but never forgotten. They live rent-free in my foodie soul and haunt my dreams.

Despite this emotional damage, this is still an easy 5 stars because let’s be honest, your food is straight-up fire, always has been, always will be. HOWEVER. If you ever get rid of the jalapeño cream cheese, there will be a full-scale revolution. Torches. Pitchforks. Very organized protests. I don’t make the rules.

On a completely reasonable and professional note: if there is any possibility of sharing with me the secret jalapeño cream cheese recipe, I am willing to sign a non-compete, NDA, loyalty oath, blood pact, whatever is required. It will be made for personal consumption only, pinky Promise. I would also strongly consider reducing my ongoing harassment of the waitstaff about the disappearance of the mini shrimp chimis. No promises, but I’m open to negotiations.

VIVA LA MINI SHRIMP CHIMIS.
Bring them back and I will immediately stand down from my (mostly peaceful) rebellion. Until then, the cravings hit harder every visit. I promise I’ll try not to show up with protest signs… no guarantees.

Forever loyal. Forever dramatic. Forever hopeful.
