Have to wait for more than 1 hr to be seated, even it’s a working day, NOT weekend.
The place is really crowded, the same as the seating area. The food is just so so but with quite high price, maybe because of the location and the rent?

I really wanted to like this place but it didn’t impress me at all. The place is definitely small, not suitable for large groups. The food was cold despite being a soup. The portions were very small for the prices. I am sure you can find better places.

This used to be our favorite place to have lunch in Japan town, years went by, the service is getting worst, food quality and appearance is no longer like before, even the taste declined. Just had our lunch and this server was rushing grabbing menus and pen like no sense of customer service at all! They would drop your food on your table like they are feeding you for free!! Never coming back to this place, ever again!!

Everything we tried was really good. The fried veggies were different, you can’t tell what it is until you bite it. They had plenty of options and we enjoyed that with our plate, it was satisfying for 2 people.

We were one of the few that came in when it just opened and the food was not fresh. Rice, tempura, chicken teriyaki all were cold. Rice and chicken tasted like it was day old. Tempura tasted cold and looks burnt. ONLY thing that tasted fresh was my daughter’s udon not noodle soup.

Good sushi, pricey, but I understand it is the city and Japan town. Usually, a spicy tuna roll would be 8 somewhere else, but here it was 12.50. To give u an idea. The wings were good, the miso soup too. The only thing was the service they all seemed in a rush. But other than that, I would go again.

Probably the most mid place in Japan town. Went here alone after some work. It’s always nice going to a restaurant alone every now and then. Just spend some time with me myself and I. The service is like alright. I don’t want to hate on service because my mom said that I should stop hating on service. The food was alright. It was decent but nothing crazy or spectacular. I got a bento box and some chicken. It was decent portion but the food just didn’t seem amazing quality or flavor. Nothing crazy but decent spot especially since it’s usually not crowded. My Beli gave it a 7.1 but I think it’s more like a 5-6. I might rank it again. Alright spot.

Went for dinner and the food was delicious. The service was also very fast. The restaurant was nice and cozy. They also have tables for single diners, which I really appreciate.

Pros: Fried food was hot and pretty tasty. Portions were good.
Cons: Sushi rice had no seasoning. Rice in general was cold and clumpy. Hamachi had bone in it. No bonito flakes on Takoyaki.
In general, a very lower-mid tier experience.
Update: wife came down with food poisoning last night. Food immediately goes from a 3 to a 1 due to this fact.

I really wanted to like Nande-Ya, especially since it’s located in Japan Town, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The restaurant was busy, which I understand — but the service felt off from the start. The staff wasn’t very friendly, and it took a while for someone to even take our order.
As for the food, I was hoping for authentic Japanese flavors, but it honestly tasted like it wasn’t made by a Japanese-owned business. The salmon bowl with ikura was good. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it tasted pretty bland.
What really threw me off was the 18% gratuity automatically added to the bill — especially with the lack of service. I don’t mind tipping, but it felt a little forced given the overall experience.
Not sure if I’ll be coming back, but I hope they improve their service in the future!
