Interesting little spot. Friend had been wanting to check it out. Was steady the whole time we were there. Food was really good even though it came out when it came out; would just like to have all my food I ordered come out together. Chicken was super crispy and tried friend’s biscuit in that gravy…YUM. Didn’t take pic of empanada but it was very delicious

First time here and ordered the Shoyu Ramen and Beef Empanada. Both were very flavorful and delicious! They make their own ramen noodles in house and it really shows! They have have a nice chew to it and the soup clings onto them very well.
I’ll definitely ve back to try more of their bowls as well as apps!

Nanban/Ki Ramen is once again my favorite Ramen spot in Pittsburgh. I used to visit frequently when Ki Ramen was a separate location a few doors down. I visited Nanban once or twice shortly after opening and my experience didn’t live up to previous visits. I decided to give it another try recently, and the Inferno Ramen was exceptional. I really enjoyed the ground pork and the broth wasn’t overly spicy.

The food was great. We ordered Spicy Miso Ramen and Fried chicken. Everything was nicely seasoned. I didn’t expect the cucumber to be spicy pickled, but it was a nice surprise. The chicken and almost all the toppings were very crunchy. Very nice texture.l

I have been to this establishment multiple times. This will be the last.
When ordering, we felt disrespected about asking for fries. They told us they were out. No biggie. We ordered a sandwich, a 2 pc, and two buns.
We sat down and the buns followed after about 10 minutes of waiting. These buns were pretty good. However, we then had to wait 1 hour for a sandwich and two pieces of chicken.
The sandwich came out first and when my girlfriend took a bite, she had to rip the meat apart. And by meat, I should say a petrified, killed twice, drier than the Sahara, coughing up dust piece of “chicken” that definitely was fried for that one hour of waiting. Or maybe it sat in the fryer while we watched other peoples orders be brought out that ordered after us.
The two piece chicken was no better. It should be a drumstick and a thigh. I got two different level of fried chicken and it was a legit half of a thigh.
We sent the sandwich back then asked for a refund because why would we wait another hour for maybe an edible sandwich. They voided the check, which hopefully will fall off the bank statement, and then charged the rest of the bill on the card. So now we have two transactions on the card that we might have to fight a charge in a few days. And of course they brought out a big piece of chicken while we were on our way out. Where was this speed when we first ordered?
Never again. If you want to eat a meal where you don’t want to wait a ridiculous amount of time, for maybe something near the price of entry, look, no run, somewhere else.

Nanban is super unique and incredibly delicious! Even a few weeks after going I’m still thinking about it. I came late in the evening and it was still quick service while busy. Absolutely delicious food, super out of the box fusion food. A wide range of options for if you’re starving or if you just want a cheap bite to eat. Highly recommend checking this place out! //
Finally came back and got a full meal, and it was great! Their chicken nuggets are just perfection. Their garlic miso sandwich was pretty good, the chicken was tender, juicy, the breading stayed with the chicken, but there was almost no spice level or flavor to the breading. I’d recommend this for people who can’t tolerate spice very well, or recommend getting a sauce with the sandwich to balance it out. I really love Nanban and I will be coming back in the colder months to warm myself up!

This Asian Soul Food restaurant is a must try! They’re a BYOB place but serve soft drinks, tea and water. First come first serve seating – if you want to get in without a wait go when they first open because the inside of the restaurant itself is small. There are a couple of outside tables as well.
We had the inferno ramen, chicken nuggets with the coconut sauce and the cucumbers. Everything was delicious!

Nanban is an amazing restaurant that combines ramen and fried chicken. The chicken nuggets were my favorite chicken and you can also get it inside the ramen. You can get takeout or eat inside the cozy dining room.

Delicious fried chicken! Served hot. It was crispy and you can pick a sauce to go with it. We tried the gochujang which was perfect with it! We also tried a couple of the ramens and the chilli oil noodles – all good but the fried chicken was what we’d go back for!

Really excellent food. Ordering is done at the counter, which is a little less convenient than having staff come and take the order. I got the gochujang chicken and biscuits with tonkatsu sauceand a Brazilian limeade and was impressed with both. My girlfriend got the shoyu ramen and she said it was very good as well. Parking is a little tricky, I found street parking after 6PM and figured there would not be meter enforcement after that time, don’t do that lol. $25 ticket. Worth it. There was a projector on the wall showing some type of streaming TV, but the lights in the restaurant are too bright for the dim projector. Otherwise cool vibe.
