Nice addition to Taos food scene. I’ve only had fusion Filipino food in Silver Lake, CA so this more authentic food is more typical day to day food. Not my favorite SE Asian flavor profile: sour, salty, sweet. But the banana deep fried rolls for dessert was delicious!

Nana and Papa’s! Or as I like to call it Lola and Lolo’s

The handmade green signs were easy to spot from the road and how I found out that there was even a Filipino food place in Taos. Beth and Tom were incredibly kind and friendly. Tom even moved the picnic tables to the shade so we could enjoy our meal away from the glare of the NM sun. People tend to forget that kindness and hospitality can make the food and experience better. Food made with kindness and love always tastes the best.

But let’s get to the food part of the review. As a Filipino who travels a lot, I’m always keeping an eye out for Filipino food. I have had a lot Filipino food between AZ and NM. This little delicious cart is at the top of the list. Let me tell you it’s been a long time since I’ve had a home cooked meal, and Nana and Papa’s feels exactly like it.

The adobo was close to the deliciousness of my moms cooking. Which any Filipino will tell you, nothing will beat moms cooking. Let me tell you about the Turon. It is my fave Filipino dessert, and I’ve had thousands of it in the Philippines and states, and this pound for pound is arguably the best Turon I’ve had. I’ve had it with plantain and sugar / drizzle filling, ice cream on top, etc., but never a banana / jackfruit combination that N&P’s did. The little whip cup with cinnamon just topped it off. It is a must stop.

I will definitely comeback for another Filipino dish and try the Halo Halo too. A true hidden Filipino gem in all of NM.

Great food truck, Home cooking Filipino food. Bricole was very well balanced flavors and delicious. Since it’s braised ahead it was in my hand in less than 5 min after I ordered.

Great to have something beyond the same northern NM / Mexican fare (which I adore but not every meal).

As a Filipino from California moving to Taos, my only worry was “Where will I get good Asian food in this town?!”
I can’t be driving all the way to Santa Fe nor Albuquerque when I’m craving for Asian food. Specifically Filipino food. I can’t even attempt to cook Filipino food because there’s no Asian grocery store nor Filipino store in the nearby area. The closest is the one in Albuquerque.
But when we found Nana’s & Papa’s Authentic Filipino food card, ALL MY WORRIES WENT AWAY!!
The cook is a kind and friendly Filipina woman. Trust me, that small bit of info should be enough to convince you that their Filipino food is delicious!
My partner and his daughter who are from Taos loved their food and gave every dish a two thumbs up! Our family will definitely be coming back again!
So for anyone who has not tried Filipino food or just want to try out a delicious food spot, please visit them and try out their menu! You’ll be supporting a small business and will be rewarded with amazing food!

I saw several hand written neon poster board signs leading me to Nana’s and Papa’s. Absolutely stoked I decided to follow them. I had the pork adobo and it was so damn good. Like stop everything else to savor this moment good Service was fast and super friendly. Great experience all around.

2024 – open again behind Mondo Italiano ! Such amazing food, some of the best in town. I recommend the veggie lumpia but everything is 10/10. Support this awesome family who is bringing DIVERSE food to Taos.

I got real Filipino food! everything was excellent and the best part was the owner served me and she was very friendly, down to earth. That day, they couldn’t take card payments, but they gave me the food for free, which is not common here. The owner gave me the food with a big smile and said it was okay. I realized she didn’t want to spoil my lunch. I will definitely go back to pay her and order more.
