Nana B’s Country Kitchen is exactly what the Round Rock community needed!

Look, everyone has their own taste buds, but you need to pull up and try it for yourself, don’t just take my word for it. You’ll have to figure out your own favorites, but I’m telling you now: do not sleep on the dirty rice or the braised cabbage. If you know what “soul food” cabbage is supposed to taste like, then you know exactly what to expect here. They absolutely nailed it. They’ve managed to put history, nostalgia, and a whole lot of personal love into that pot. This is home cooking at its finest!

Truly home cooked taste! So fresh and flavorful! I had the oxtail quesadilla with the rice and some yams. It was all amazing. My son stole half my food. My wife got the chicken fried chicken, dipped in gravy it was cooked perfect.
It’s family owned and operated and they are all amazing people! Definitely try this place you won’t regret it!

4.5 – when it comes to soul food, I tend to favor my mom or Grandma’s cooking. So a half point will always be missing.
Everything I had was good quality and a few items stood out to me. Dirty rice, oxtail, sweet potatoes, fried chicken and the pan-seared chicken breast. (My friend liked the fried catfish – I’m allergic)
As for desert, I WILL be coming back. That pound cake hit.

*I didn’t take a picture of everything I tasted.

If you enjoy authentic Southern-style cooking, Nana B’s is definitely the place to be. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the kind of warm Southern hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. Keisha and Vic are absolutely wonderful and make every visit feel special.

I’ve already been there three times in one week, and each visit has been just as good as the last. So far I’ve tried the crispy tender pork chops, chicken-fried chicken, catfish, and the wings—and every dish was cooked to perfection.

The food at Nana B’s truly reminds me of the meals my grandmother used to cook on Sunday afternoons—comforting, flavorful, and made with love. If you’re craving real Southern comfort food, Nana B’s is a spot you definitely don’t want to miss.

Ok. Pull up a chair, let’s talk about Nana B’s. We sent a crew in today. Our very particular crew all had catfish, but with different sides. Here goes:
Catfish: dialed in. 5 stars. The filets were amazing, and if you worry about it falling apart, the nuggets were the solution. Both choices are solid. Catfish is 5-star
Dirty Rice: solid. This is Texas so the liver is dialed down. Thumbs up on Texas Dirty Rice.
Green Beans: Fresh. No complaints. Not canned flavor. Yes.
Collard Greens: Yes. Smoked Turkey added. Full flavor.
Mac n Cheese: As others stated. Just Mac. And cheese. Season to taste.
Fries: A++ on the fries. Two thumbs up.
Cornbread: Sweet. Not too sweet. Think of it as dessert.
OK: bottom line. They are new. The staff is dedicated, hard working, committed to excellence. These awesome people have their hearts, souls, and skin in the game. This isn’t just a business. This is a passion.
Moving forward: they’re taking baby steps. The restaurant biz is make or break. They’re in it for the long game.
What we’d like to see: New Orleans beans and rice, authentic Cajun jambalaya.
What we don’t want to see: Shrimp. Gulf Shrimp are expensive. Other shrimp are unacceptable for human consumption. Po-Boys. We love poboys, but there is no authentic poboy bread around and bolillos are unfit for La. Poboys.
Summary. Nana B’s is legit. Growing. Definitely worth a visit. 5 stars on where they are now. 4 stars because they have room to grow into a slightly expanded menu experience.

Food was good! Gonna stick to greens and cabbage for sides.. Mac n cheese was not that great but it was worth a try.. only tried chicken wings since they ran out of oxtails.. Will definitely be back!

Highly recommend. Not fancy, but that does not matter!!! The fried catfish is by far the best in Central Texas. The smothered pork chop was on point. The braised cabbage melts in your month with the best flavor. Nana B’s is tuck away in a shopping stripe on Limmer Loop. I noticed several folks ordered to go, but did not wait and started eating there. We will be back. If going for dinner…. Need to go early as they close at 7pm.

I had the pleasure of trying Nana B’s last week and the food was great! I had the fried pork chop w/ a side of gravy, mac and cheese, greens, cabbage and cornbread. Everything was terrific and seasoned to perfection. The pork chop looked like it should be on the cover of a food magazine and the taste didnt disappoint. I will definitely be back and recommend everyone to give Nana’s a try. P.S. I would say her Cabbage was better than my Mom’s but my mother may read this review.

Very crowded due to unusually large party celebrating a 100th birthday. The service was actually pretty quick with such a group in front of us. The place is not easy to find because there is an old sign on the location. Nana B’s is on the far left. The smothered burrito and the catfish were both good. Only bottled drinks available.

I happened upon Nana B’s this evening after stopping by the shop next door, and I was so pleasantly surprised. This is some truly amazing soul food. I ended up ordering quite a bit because I wanted to taste everything, and I’m glad I did. I got the smothered pork chop, collard greens, dirty rice, fried chicken wings, and fries. Every single item was absolutely amazing and perfectly seasoned. Nothing disappointed.

I also tried all three of their desserts: the banana pudding, the pound cake, and the sockie timmy cake. All of them were delicious, but the sockie timmy cake was hands down my favorite. It was that good.

The service was great, and I had the chance to meet the owner while I was there. They were very welcoming and accommodating, which made the experience even better. The setup is nice and cozy, with a few tables available if you want to dine in and enjoy your food fresh.

Overall, this was such a great find, and I will definitely be returning. Nana B’s is absolutely worth checking out if you’re craving good soul food done right.
