Good Nepalese restaurant with tasty food overall. The momos were really good. The biryani was very, very spicy even though we ordered medium spice. Overall, a very nice experience.

I’d say it’s very basic Indian and Nepali food. I ordered the veg biryani it felt more like simple masala rice with frozen vegetables than an actual biryani, though the quantity was enough for three people. The mushroom garlic dish was just average. The only thing I really liked was the veg soup, it was perfect for the rainy weather. Prices are quite high for what you get; they should offer better quality food for the price. Also, there are fewer vegetarian options.

I visited the restaurant with my friends for lunch and ordered the Nepali thali. Unfortunately my experience was really disappointing. The thali did not feel like authentic Nepali thali, which was one of the main reason we chose this dish, especially considering the high price. Given the cost I was expecting more authentic experience, the Thali was just served with 4 item including rice, chicken curry , daal, and one veg pakora( was out of expectations in Nepali thali) and salad . The Nepali thali was really overpriced with the variety that was served. If you are really looking for an authentic Nepalese cuisine like Nepali thali I don’t think I would recommend this place for you.

However, the ambiance and starter( chicken mo:mo and lamb chop) was good. The staff was really nice.
Overall experience with the food was below average.

From the moment I stepped into Namaste Kathmandu, I was greeted with the warm, inviting aroma of Indian spices and the decor was elegant yet cozy, featuring intricate wooden carvings, beautiful hanging lanterns, and a touch of modern design with ambient lighting. The seating was comfortable, with enough space between tables for a relaxed dining experience.

The staff was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to offer recommendations. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our water glasses were always filled and checking in at just the right moments

For the main course, we ordered Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer and Chicken Tikka masala . The butter chicken had a silky tomato-based gravy, rich in flavor with the right balance of creaminess and spice. The chicken tikka masala was equally delightful, featuring tender pieces of meat simmered in a fragrant, slow-cooked. The Saag Paneer was another highlight, with a deep, flavorful taste that had clearly been cooked just right to develop its flavors.

The garlic naan was soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of crispness on the edges and a generous topping of minced garlic and cilantro. We also tried Jeera Rice, which paired well with the flavorful gravies.

To overall experience was great!!! In terms of both food and service. The flavors were authentic, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation impeccable. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion.

Would I return? Absolutely! If you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine with a refined touch, this place is worth visiting.

This Nepali restaurant has a nice atmosphere but if you are looking for authentic Nepali or Indian flavors, this might not be the spot.
The food we tried was pretty average and the spices and preparation was focused more towards a Western palate, that is why most of the positive reviews came from them. But it didn’t quite hit the mark for our Asian taste buds.
On top of that, be prepared for a wait – the service was quite slow and the staff was cordial but pretty laid back. Overall, while the ambience is nice, the food and services are very average especially if you are familiar with genuine Nepali or Indian cuisine.

Okay, here’s an edited review incorporating the owner’s response and the counter-arguments:

“Dear Owner, as mentioned in my original review, I was talking about the dishes we tried, which were quite average and lacked the genuine flavors we were hoping for. Instead, I did write that the atmosphere was nice, and you are just mentioning the roof and wall color “LOL”.
It’s disappointing that the owner’s response focused solely on the decor rather than addressing the core issue of the food quality and service.

Furthermore, consistent long wait times remain a significant drawback. Any pleasant ambiance doesn’t compensate for a lengthy delay in receiving what ultimately amounts to an average meal.

It’s concerning to see this defensiveness that seems to prioritize maintaining ratings over genuinely addressing customer feedback about the food and service speed. Constructive criticism, even if negative, should ideally be met with a focus on improvement rather than deflection. Hopefully, the owner will take this feedback on board and focus on enhancing the flavor of their dishes and improving their service efficiency rather than blaming honest customers.”

Decor and ambience was good but point when the food is not. We ordered starters which was good enough. But the Thali set was bare minimum. The rice was very dry and we couldn’t even eat half of it. Service wise we did tell the staff the rice was dry but they didn’t bother to do anything. For the price we paid, I will say there’s a LOT of room for improvement if they want their customers to come back.

We had a great lunch and it was a very big portion, but would like to note, only ask for “hot” if you can REALLY take the spice, if not, go for the mild or medium options. The food was amazing though and the mocktail was incredible too.

THE MOST AMAZING RESTAURANT! We had such a lovely dinning experience! The service was top notch, the popadoms to start with pickles and then the dumpling and lamb chops for starter! The curry was absolutely amazing as well as their mixed grill plater!

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff!
We had an entree of lamb soup and veggie samosa. The mains of vegetable vindaloo and prawn in papaya with rice and potato naan.
I personally love lamb soup the most, tender meat and tasty soup!
The main is good in size too and the papaya was fresh and sweet!
The gentleman who seated us and the lady who worked the table were both lovely and attentive.
Perfect place for comfort hot food that makes your tummy happy!
