I recently went there for lunch on 11/22/25 around 2:30-3:00pm.

The caterpillar roll was a standout, exceptionally fresh, beautifully assembled, and wonderfully balanced in flavor. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy, complementing the tender eel and subtly seasoned rice. Each bite had that ideal contrast of textures and a clean, ocean-bright taste that made the roll feel both comforting and refined. It’s the kind of sushi that reminds you how much difference truly fresh ingredients make.

The ceviche was equally impressive. Visually, it arrived with an elegant presentation. vibrant citrus, delicate herbs, and colorful garnishes arranged with care. The fish itself was firm yet delicate, soaking up a marinade that struck a perfect harmony between acidity and natural sweetness. Every forkful carried layers of flavor: bright lime, a hint of heat, and the refreshing crunch of fresh vegetables. It was clear that attention was paid not just to taste, but to composition and balance.

Overall, both dishes showed a high level of freshness, craftsmanship, and flavor. It was a meal that felt thoughtfully prepared from start to finish, and I wouldn’t hesitate to order both again.

Slam dunk! 5/5! Will be back so my lips can smack with the delicious goodness of sushi at Nama! Prompt, fresh, and nothing but the best. Fish tacos were a delightful win coupled with sashimi and BB roll.

I had a good experience at Nama. Their dishes were pretty standard for a sushi restraunt. I wish they had a few signature dishes to really make the menu pop.

Waited over 40 min for our food pretty sure they went fishing for it. I get that Knoxville doesn´t have a sea, but the wait was way too long. After all that it just wasn´t worth it. The sushi were worse than mediocre. Total waste of time and money. The server did their best to be nice, but that doesn´t season the food. Still can´t figure out why the place was full of ppl.

Ordered two large miso soups and couldn’t even finish them, they were way too salty. We told the waiter, but he still charged us, which was disappointing. How do you mess up miso soup that badly? It’s just broth and tofu! Absolutely disgusting and a total waste of money.

On the positive side, the sushi was good, and the waiter provided good service overall. But the miso soup really ruined the experience for us.

The food is always amazing, as is the staff. Tonight especially, our waitress, Haley, was so super sweet and went out of her way when I mentioned I was allergic to something, she actually looked at the drink ingredients I didn’t even notice and removed it just in case. They are always just super cool and friendly here, it’s our go to spit downtown!

If I could rate this restaurant 1000/10 I would. To start off our server Emily was incredible. Knowledgeable but personable, she made our experience just that much better. The food was outstanding and the drinks were phenomenal. I will without a doubt be recommending this spot to anyone and everyone and will 100% be coming back as much as possible. Thank you for making our dinner so exceptional,

One of the few places downtown with a nicer patio to sit outside. I forgot to get pictures of the inside.

Service was a bit slow especially for sushi. Plus Usually there’s a complementary clear soup at most sushi spots. I don’t think they were exceptionally busy around the time. Sushi time was decent but the cocktail took about 17 min (food pic timestamped 6:23 drink time stamp 6:44…I arrived at 6:02) to come out which I had finished eating and finished the sparkling waterand honestly was not that great especially for a mojito.

The sushi was definitely great however. Eel Nigri and soy joy were excellent both in taste and appearance!

Unfortunately the long waits I did have to knock off a star for service but hopefully for others this is an exception and not the norm

Sushi was so fresh and delicious! Each roll we got was different and tasty. Service was excellent. Great location downtown, walkable to the market square and nestled between coffee and donut shops that were both so cozy!
