I found this on instagram and decided to give it a try. It opens early. We arrived around 11 am. and it is almost full. The restaurant is not that big. Inside is pretty roomy.

This restaurant is well known for their dry noodles (Hu Tieu Kho). The soup they give you to start is pretty good. They give you a huge piece of meat compared to some restaurants where there is no meat.

Nam Vang is good, but I’ve had better. The pieces of meat were not as generous here. We had the #8 Nam vang thick noodles $17 and #9 Nam vang egg noodles $16. I’m a huge fan of the dry noodles with soup on the side. The weird thing is, they didn’t list the siu mai (meatball) or the Chinese donut on the menu. We were able to get it when we asked our waitress. The service was fine.

We drove 40 minutes to try out one of the few cambodian cuisines in the Bay Area. We were not disappointed by this excellent meal! The broth is a must have. It compliments the noodles with its soothing rich flavors. Their service was also very fast and efficient desptive the outdoor setup with limited staff.

How many of you remember going to Ha Nam Ninh (SF) and ordering the infamous “#25 Dry”- Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang? Aka Cambodian inspired noodles. It was the only thing I ordered there! Loved pouring the black sauce and slowly mixing the noodles. I have not found a place yet that makes it the way they made it. Nam Vang in San Jose makes a really good version of it and I order the plump delicious meatball as a side. The crispy egg rolls is a must. Order the #1,dry here. Nice tent set up for patio dining. Reasonable prices. Quick and efficient service. Small parking lot parking.

As far as the food goes, this place has really good Hu Tieu. However, one of those will cost $16 (cash only) and while it’ll also come out pretty quickly despite how busy the restaurant is, the portion won’t keep you full for too long
