Drove an hour for a late-night dinner at Nam Hua, and it absolutely hit the spot. We usually come for the vegetarian buffet at lunch, but tonight we switched it up — and wow.

The tamarind shrimp, banh mi xíu mại, chạo tôm, and ốc hương hấp sả were insanely delicious. It didn’t feel like dinner — it felt like a feast. Every bite was packed with flavor.

Service was, as always, friendly and welcoming. Great food, great people, and family by your side — what more could you ask for?

Nam Hua is our go-to whenever we’re in Garland. We’ll be back!

Mom and pop great find in the area. Had lunch on Sunday. They open at 10am. They also have a vegetarian buffet for $15 per person or you can order from them menu.

They have a variety selections from rice to noodles to vermicelli bowl. Also have other stir fry as well.

They also sells pre-made side dishes as well.

The restaurant is clean and the staffs are really nice.

Nam Hua is a fantastic spot for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Garland. We had a great experience dining here, starting with the spring rolls, which were fresh, light, and packed with flavor—the perfect way to kick off the meal.

For mains, we ordered the salted fish fried rice and the Cơm Đặc Biệt, and both dishes delivered. The salted fish rice had that deep umami flavor and was well-balanced with perfectly cooked rice and a subtle savory kick. But the standout of the meal was definitely the Cơm Đặc Biệt. This dish was a flavorful combination of a juicy pork chop, a crispy fried egg, a savory egg patty, and chargrilled pork—all served with rice. Each component added its own texture and taste, coming together as a delicious, satisfying plate that hit every note.

The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and casual, making it an easy spot to relax and enjoy a comforting meal. Nam Hua delivers traditional flavors with generous portions and great value. We’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for authentic Vietnamese food done right!

This restaurant is a hidden hot pot gem in garland. We came here just for the delicious goat hot pot and we enjoyed it tremendously. Aside from different hotpot, there are many authentic Vietnamese cuisine offered here. The vegetarian buffet line attracts a large crowd.

Even though, the restaurant looked tired and beaten up, we overlooked the food offerings.

My rating 5 id very satisfied

Temperature 5/5
Attentiveness 5/5
Cleanliness 3/5
Speed of service 4/5

Will love to return soon.

Place is clean. They seem to be set up for an event the next day, some of the tables had more fancy cloth & dinnerware. We ordered pho and spring rolls. Spring rolls were generously filled with shrimp, peanut sauce was ok. Pho portion was huge and had lots of meat. All pho condiments were provided when the soup came. Overall, love the experience and the food, would come back to try other items on the menu.

Great authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Have been there two times and really liked the food. Bun Cha Hanoi (see picture) was fantastic. Also extremely fairly priced. Never have been to Vietnam but lived in Berlin and had lots of great Vietnamese food there and this place is as good or better in my opinion.

I was walking around the mall looking for a place to eat and this place was packed. Checked out the vege buffet but decided i wanted meat. got a couple of dishes and the stewed port was delish. the water spinach not so much, lacked punch and flavor. Next time i will try out the vege buffet or maybe the goat hot pot. highly recommended.

Second trip:
This time I had the Mi Quang. Soup was decent, lots of toppings but the noodle was not the right noodles. Looks like they subsituted wonton noodles instead of the usual yellow flat noodles

This is a hidden gem! Amazing vegetarian buffet for under $15! Even tho I do not practice Buddhism so I don’t have any diet restrictions. However I did check with the staff as they prepare the vegetarian buffet under the same guideline as the Vietnamese temples so no garlic or onions but I did noticed some dishes had leeks. So in some Buddhism practice even leeks are not allowed. So just need to keep that in mind. The dessert was good, for today’s menu it offered corn pudding and coconut pandan jelly ( I had 2 servings)

We ate lunch here on Saturday and it was okay to my standards. I ordered the Bún Bò Huế, while my wife ordered Mì Hoành Thánh. My portion lacked flavor and spice, and even though I added what the restaurant offered, I was still searching for more. I would give my portion a 2/5 for the Bún Bò Huế. My wife gave her portion a 4/5. From her experience, the dish usually is served with bok choy, but it was served with lettuce, green onions, and garlic chives. Overall experience was a 3/5.
