We catered food for our Dashain Night event at Texas State University (350+ people) organized by the Nepalese Student Association (NSA). The order was large (around a $5,000 event order), but everything was handled smoothly—portions were sufficient, and the taste was exactly what we expected. The food was genuinely good and consistent across the whole batch. Would definitely recommend for large events.

NOT AT ALL RECOMMENDED!!!
Worst food!! No flavor at all.
Paneer korma had more gravy with 1-2 pieces of paneer.
kesari bath has bad smell of oil. Looks like the oil was used for frying multiple times.

The quality of food is very bad.

This was an absolutely terrible food order. The food arrived burnt, dry, and badly overcooked, with several pieces completely charred and impossible to eat. It looked careless and poorly prepared, like quality control doesn’t exist at this place.

The vegetables were soggy, flavorless, and clearly overdone. To make things worse, the biryani was nothing but flavored rice—no proper masala, no aroma, and none of the rich taste biryani is known for. It felt misleading to even call it biryani.

For the price charged, this level of food is unacceptable. Overall, a waste of money and time. I won’t be ordering again and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

One of the horrible Nepali cuisines I have ever had in the US. The food didn’t have any authentic taste; they put too much oil in the chow mein. Neither the momo nor the jhol were better. The ambience was terrible, and the service was poor. If you wanna try Nepali cuisine, do not go to this place; rather, drive quite far to find Nepali restaurants or stay on an empty stomach if you have the only motive of trying Nepali cuisine and didn’t find one.

“I recently tried the Chow Mein at Nalas South Indian Restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious! The noodles were perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch from the fresh veggies and a burst of flavors in every bite. The spices were well-balanced, and the portion size was generous too. Definitely a must-try for anyone who loves Indo-Chinese flavors with a South Indian twist. Highly recommend it!”

⭐️Amazing Experience at Nalas! ⭐

I visited Nalas for the first time and had an incredible experience! I tried the samosa, dosa, and momos, and the taste was absolutely amazing—unlike anything I’ve had before. The food was high quality, fresh, and full of flavor.

I also want to appreciate the staff and co-workers for their excellent service. They were so kind and welcoming, making the experience even better.

I highly recommend Nalas to everyone! If you want to try something new and delicious, this is the place to be. I will definitely be coming back—again and again!

Thank you to the entire team at Nalas for such a fantastic experience!❤️

Absolutely, hands down the BEST and most AUTHENTIC Indian food we have ever had. Extensive menu with a variety of southern Indian food. The Mysore Masala Dosa had a wonderful texture and the lentil soup, spices, and curry sides were flavorful. The Lamb Rogan Josh was an absolute delight. Sid was fantastic ABC great company. He helped describe the different dishes and ingredients and had great recommendations. Now for drinks! The Nannari Sarbath made with lemon juice and nannari root is light, refreshing and not overly sweet. The Mango Lassi was also very good. We got one to go as a small dessert treat and was much like a mango smoothie. Absolutely delicious. We were also brought some Gulab Jamun… a treat!!! Sid explained that these donuts are good as a little breakfast with coffee and I will be trying that soon! Thank you to Nala’s, the chef, and Sid. This place is a hidden gem, and absolutely heavenly. Clean restaurant and restrooms. OH. And they have a buffet on Saturdays and Sundays! We will have to come back soon to try. Five stars! I would give more if I could!

Ordered Masala Dosa and Uthappam. Both the dishes were great. Good taste. Sambar was great. Chutneys were horrible, cold, no taste, not fresh. Ambience is nice for sure, Hindi songs playing on screen. Floor is sticky when we walk, needs better cleaning, tables have rings from hot drinks or cold, need cleaning. Place is sort of hidden, difficult to find, is behind a Holiday Inn.

This was one of the worst food experiences I have had. We ordered idlis and kesari and every single item was terrible.

The sambar and chutney were absolutely horrible and tasted completely wrong. Not just bad, but inedible. We could not take more than a bite or two. The kesari was also awful and had to be thrown away.

We ended up throwing the entire order into the trash. Complete waste of money and food. There is no excuse for serving food of this quality. I would strongly advise others to stay away until this place seriously improves.

A true hidden gem where flavor meets warmth. The food was divine; every dish burst with authentic spices and perfect balance. The butter chicken was creamy and rich, the naan soft and fresh from the oven.
The atmosphere felt elegant yet homely filled with laughter, aromas, and genuine hospitality. The staff made us feel like family, not customers.
NALA’S isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience of love, culture, and unforgettable taste. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
