I was driving around at about 7:30pm hopelessly looking for dinner in this town where everything seems to close at 7(ridiculous). Just when I was about to give up, the neon sign for Nagi Baba caught my eye!
I walked up to the cart and the guy running the shop was super nice (he’s the shop owners brother)! I ordered the $18 combo plate with chicken and lamb that he let me sample first and he absolutely loaded me up. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is like three days of food for me.
The food came out insanely fast too. I standing there talking to the guy and it was ready in like three minutes.
I’m literally writing this review while eating the cold leftovers the next day, and it’s still good. Great portions, great service, and it completely saved my night. (Sorry about the pic I was so excited I just dove right in lol)

Got the lamb rice place. Was very tasty. For a fan of Halal Guys & Adele’s in NYC, Naji Baba does a pretty good job. Their rice and falafel are . However, their lamb is on the drier side. It needs a lot of sauce. Ask for EXTRA white sauce. Too bad you have to buy it as a side. It’s great their hot sauce is free. It’s not too spicy. Very mild. Very nice owners!

Naji Baba is seriously so good. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and packed with seasoning. The falafel is crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the gyro plates are super satisfying with generous portions. You can tell everything is made with care. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Kailua when I’m craving Mediterranean food!

The falafel is so delicious and I seldomly eat fried food. It’s crisp outside, tender inside and clearly rooted in tradition. The fragrant rice, layered with sauces and seasoned meat, brings everything together beautifully. Warm, heartfelt service makes this spot shine brighter than their cool lights! A true gem and such a special addition to Kailua.

The food here is AMAZING! I have had the gyro sandwich and the falafel rice plate and both were to die for. I have been sadly underwhelmed with other Mediterranean food I have tried on the island – usually ending up pretty bland. The food here is packed with flavor, and it has even made its way into my dreams in the best way possible. <3

Food is usually tasty and the concept is great — we’ve enjoyed it the other two times we’ve come. But something was off today, mainly the portion/value. The $16 chicken plate had a very thin layer of chopped chicken over only half the container, with mostly rice and just a tiny salad. At that price I’d expect a noticeably bigger scoop of chicken. Hoping this was just an off day, because we’ve had better experiences here before.

Great Mediterranean food. I had the lamb over rice. Seating is cozy, great for date or family/friend dinner. The sauce really does add to the flavor and overall good value! Come support!!! $16 for lamb over rice and prices are more or less similar all around.

Tried this spot recently and ordered a gyro sandwich along with the lamb over rice. Adib was great. The gyro was flavorful with well-seasoned meat and a solid balance of toppings, and the lamb over rice was filling and comforting with good portions and satisfying spices. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot. Overall, a solid choice if you’re craving Mediterranean comfort food.
